1.1 Schedule review
In the first 4 weeks of the project, our group had a great knowledge of understanding the
requirement analyses, examining project scope and objectives and mainly constructing a
scheduled project plan. For week 5 and 6 proper implementations of the knowledge and
understanding the risks related to the project is analysed.
Below is the brief description of the project plan for week 5 and 6 -
1. Week 5 - Network Redesign
The week was all about how to achieve the understanding the redesigned network
structure of the FNU University. Several tasks were included in this week’s schedule.
Task were as follows according to the Gantt Chart of the project
Existing network study - The existing network of First National university is
analysed. The university has several dependent components and security features
that have to be understood with the great knowledge. Making of notes on the basis
of the network requirements made by the FNU management with the existing
network of FNU.
Upgradation Requirement - The case study of FNU is analysed and after the
evaluation of existing network design, an understanding of upgradation in the
network design is acknowledged. All the graduation requirement to the existing
network are analysed.
Addressing Scheme - After the knowledge about the existing network and its design
and upgradation requirement addressing scheme for the new redesign of the
network for FNU is defined.
LAN and WAN designs - Applying the upgradation requirement for the FNU network
and analysing the implementation of addressing for the network. Local Area
Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies are implemented over
the network for proper networking strategies. Following are some of the initial
individual draft design of LAN and WAN design of different building–

2. Week 6 - Risk Analyses
In this week risks related to the network, the redesign is analysed. Risks are related to
various domain of the project and their redemption of mitigation are different
accordingly. Following is the brief description of the risk analyses -
Existing risks - There are a number of existing risks in the current network design of
First National University. So in this stage, actual risks in the network of FNU is
identified and analysed. Like weak security policies implementation, lower
bandwidth rate, weak design etc. all these risks are analysed.
Discussion - A group discussion of team members on the risks analyses and their
prevention are discussed.
Security devices - Examining the security threats of the existing network and their
prevention techniques are discussed. Existing devices are analysed and their
security-related issues are noted. Discussion included the usage of security devices
like firewalls and DMZ zone applications.
Risks in future - For the redesigned network of FNU risks are analysed which can be a
threat in future. Their prevention strategies are discussed.

2.2 Any Issues
The team hold up quite well till now. There were issues related to different tasks. For
analysation of the network of FNU understanding the existing network design of the
university was a little haptic task. Understanding the working of Local Area Network (LAN)
and Wide Area Network (WAN) and its implementation on Cisco Packet Tracer was a great
task to deal with. For this Cisco Packet Tracer online sources were used as for training
session.
