INTRODUCTION
Networking can be defined as a way through which two or more computer devices can be
linked to each other. So that data can be shared from one device to another. There are many
networking fundamentals that focuses on all networking concepts, architecture, design and
communication etc. This report will lay emphasis on ABC company floor plan which is an
American institute of technology which has been recently shifted to Canberra. In this network
proposal solution three different floor plan will be described which are full building floor plan,
ground floor plan, A floor plan other than this all the devices used will also be explained with the
reason due to which it has been used are explained. This report will also focus on technology,
protocols, services that has been used by ABC institute for a secure connection.

As the above all floor within the building are divided into six sections which consists of
24 workstations excluding one workstation for the lecturer in each lab section. In the below
represented networking diagram individual lab consists of various workstation which are
connected to each other by forming the Local Network area within the campus (Lu and et.al.,
2015). These workstations are further connected to the common workstation of the lecturer
which shares the data and information via wireless information technology. So the rest of the
floors which are divided into six labs which contains 24 workstations are connected via CISCO
Hub. CISCO hub helps in establishing a connectivity into various ports together.

Technical aspects of devices used
There are various devices that are used in This Networking solution proposal of ABC
institute for connectivity such as: routers, switches, servers, hubs, wireless media, cisco servers.
Technical details of all of these devices have been described below:
Router: Router is a networking device that helps in forwarding data packets among computer
networks. Basic function of a router is to perform functions of traffic directing functions on
internet. All the data that are send through internet are mostly in the form of packets that are
forwarded from one router to another through internetwork until and unless they reach to their
destination node.
Servers: servers are the devices that provides functionality to other devices or programs. It is
used to send and receive data from one computer to another through internet or any other local
area network (Lu and et.al., 2015). There are various kinds of servers available which are used
based on their requirements. Here, web server, file server, email server, proxy server, web server,
FTP server and application server.

Hubs: Hubs are also known as network hubs which are used as common connection points for all
the devices within a network. These are mainly used to connect segments of LAN. It consist of
multiple ports and when a packet arrives at one port it is copied to other ports as well such that
all the other segments of LAN can sell all packets.
Wireless media: Wireless media used here is WiFi. It is a type of media that carriers
electromagnetic signals of data communications using radio wave frequencies. It also provides
mobility options to all the other media and devices as well.
Switches: Network is a computer networking device that is basically used to connect other
devices on the computer network by using packet switching in order to receive, forward or
process data to the destination devices.
Reason of choosing those devices
All the devices which are used in developing a a networking architecture that contributes
towards the effective Floor plan. These devices helps in controlling and managing the
information within the institute via Cloud technology. So there fore in order to store different
types of files and application various different types of servers are used that helps in establishing
a effective networking connectivity within the building (Bayer, Bukhari and Dengel, 2017).
There is a reason behind all of the devices used within ABC institute of technology which are
explained below:
Switch: This is a control unity and this device is used in establishing a effective network because
it turns on and off of the flow of electricity. Also this device is mainly used to connect different
sections or segments within the building. In ABC American institute of technology, switches are
used to route the information patterns in a streamlined way which helps in transforming the
electronic data over the internet.
Hub: This networking devices is used in the ABC institute because it helps in connecting the
multiple ports. When any data or information arrives in the form of packets then hub is used in
order to integrate the data and copy the data of the one port to another in order to allow all the
segments to see all the packets.
Wireless Media: This networking device provides the interconnectivity within various devices of
the building. Wireless media is used in this networking design because it is most effective and
efficient data transfer tool which helps in transferring the data from the workstation to the
various servers.

Workstations: The workstation used in the above plan helped the students as well as lecturer to
store and manipulate the data during the operations within the institute. Also the workstations are
used by the students in order to perform the operations while the workstation used by the lecturer
to store the data and information about the students.
Server: The main reason behind the installation of the server is to establish the connectivity
between various different types of networking devices (Cui, Yang and Cheng, 2018). Also this
helps the institute to store the information and access such information via internet.
Technology, protocols and services used
In this network solution proposal of ABC institute wireless technology has been used to
connect all the devices together. This one one of the most effective technology that can be used
to connect computing devices together as no cables or wire are involved in connecting two
devices together. ABC institute uses TCP/IP also known as also known as Transmission control
protocol/Internet protocol. It is a kind of protocol which is used for secure communication
between ABC Canberra and ABC New York. It is a communication protocol which is mainly
used to interconnect network devices on the internet and is mostly used in private networks. For
ABC institute this protocol is important to be implemented because whole building internet runs
over it. This Transmission control protocol/Internet protocol is based upon OSI model. For a
secure communication within the building ABC institute uses WLAN (Wireless local area
network) like WiFi. It is used to to connect all the devices across short distance so that
information within the building can be shared easily. For connection of both ABC New York
head branch and ABC Canberra branch WAN (Wide area network) will be used (Hanes and
et.al., 2017). It is a kind of network that is used to connect all the devices together across long
physical distances.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been summarized that networking fundamentals helps in
understanding complete networking design of a building and the way in which devices are
connected to each other. From all the above floor plan it has been analysed that there are various
technical devices that helps in connecting all the devices with each other. It has also been
analysed that each design is used for different purposes and in different situations. Also the
above study has helped in developing a effective floor plans which clearly describes the number
of workstations and devices that are connected to each other via wireless connections.
