Report
AI Summary
This report provides a comprehensive analysis of network administration, encompassing process updates, best practices, and implementation strategies. It explores the importance of understanding the network administration process to improve IT infrastructure, including creating an inventory of important systems like servers and firewalls. The report delves into network administration procedures, predefined security templates, and best practices for migrating to a new network administration process. It covers project scheduling, implementation timelines, and milestones, along with budgeting considerations and the use of various software tools. The report emphasizes the iterative nature of networking plans, encompassing topological design, and discusses the steps involved in network development, user requirements, and protocol settings. 2NETWORKING PROJECT
Network administration Process Update
It is necessary to understand the network administration process that will help in improving
the IT infrastructure. This is the responsibility of the network manager to conduct process that will be
beneficial for the infrastructure. The process includes creating an inventory for the important systems
within the organization. The organization can include servers, routers, firewalls and other devices that
will help the users and network to keep working. Secondly the network administration process can
develop a change control process, this will help in managing and improving thee infrastructure
(Connor et al.,2016). The administrator needs to understand which h system needs to be monitored. In
addition to this having a map with status icons will help in managing the network easily, as the
identification will become easier with this use of these icons. The network administration needs to set
standards and security for the network information. These is necessary to secure the information’s
associated with the network information and this information can be gathered using standard protocols
such as SNMP or WMI (O'Toole, 2015).
Network administration procedures update
The aim of IT infrastructure management is to offer a structure and control the functions.
There are several procedures that are associated with the network administration. There are several
predefined security template that helps in managing the security within IT infrastructure (Kaur et
al.,2015). The predefined security templates are as follows:
Default security
Compatible
Secure
Domain controller default security
Highly secure
System root security

Network administration best practices evaluation
This is necessary to understand the main steps involved in migrating to a new network
administration process (Axelsson & Easton, 2016). The steps involved in migration are as follows:
1. Choosing an appropriate migration method: the organization needs to understand the
migration method that will be helpful in managing the IT infrastructure.
2. Time estimation is necessary: the organization needs to understand the amount of time that
will be required in migration process. Even the working can be divided in batches, so the
working can be done smoothly and in less number of time.
3. The organization needs to choose the network administration process: in order to migrate, the
organization needs to choose a suitable process that will help in improving the IT
infrastructure.
4. The impact on existing architecture: the organization needs to understand the impact that will
be created on the already existing architecture.
Network administration procedures and process
Networking plan consist of iterative process, network synthesis, encompassing topological
design and this aimed at providing a new telecommunication network that will help meeting the
need of service provider (Balmer et al., 2014). The steps involved in developing network are as
follows:
1. The organization needs to understand the requirements of devices, switches and hubs that are
necessary to build the network.
2. Based on the size of the building the organization needs to figure out, where the devices are to
be set.
3. The organization needs to identify the users and based on the requirement of users the
protocols will be set.
4. This will help in working of the network within the organization.

4NETWORKING PROJECT
The steps involved in preparing budget are as follows:
1. Firstly the organization needs to identify the goals.
2. The organization needs to review the requirements they already had.
3. The cost associated with each object needs to be defined at the planning stage itself.
4. The last step includes the creation of budget.
The ESCG completely lies on federal funding and this makes budgeting and resources limited.
There are various software available and this software are free and open to use. This includes
Smart draw
Nmap
Visio
Solar winds
Automated clearing house
Project scheduling and implementation of timeline
The developed guide includes detailed scheduling and timeline set for the project completion.
The tools described is helpful for guiding ESCG throughout the whole project lifecycle. Moreover
changes will take place with time, the scope, the budget and the timeline will get affected. In addition
to this, it necessary to develop a well-defined plan that will help in managing the changes required in
the plan.
Implementation milestones
The prepared project has already gone through several milestones and this includes additional
funding $30,000. The registration process is made quicker and this feature attracts more customer.
Thus, the customer satisfaction has increased over time.
