Response to Part I: Corporate Strategy
The corporate business strategy which can be followed by New West is growth platform
strategy (Brewster, 2017). The growth platform strategy aims at increasing revenues by the
introduction of new product line.
Scalability- The company can make the business scalable, which will allow New
West to implement product development without the concern of increasing volume
and size of order.
Strategic Planning for Management Information System (MIS) - MIS implementation
in New West will allow the company to formulate a better decision making regarding
product development or market expansion as it will present an upgrade operational
process and financial information.
Technological automation- It will reduce the worker’s requirement for overtime and
will result in an efficient operational process for manufacturing clothing and
equipment (Hernandez & Menon, 2018). It will result in increased work efficiency
and eliminate work slowdowns.
Efforts and funding in R&D- Restructuring and employment in the R&D department
will enable the improvement and diversification of existing product line.
Improvement of the promotional activities in New West will allow new business
opportunities by tapping into different consumer segment.
Response to Part II: Human Resource Plan
A. Assessment of current HR capacity- Majority of the staff are promoted within the
organization and the Hr department recruits occasionally (Collings, Wood & Szamosi,
2018). The process of recruitment, selection and training is facilitated on departmental

basis. Rigid organizational structure due to internal employment. Operation on
outdated system and equipment for the manufacturing workers.
B. Forecasting Human Resource needs-
A separate team for operating the Management Information System of around
15 employees (merging the information system team) with analytical and
informational technology skills.
Employment of research professional for enhancing the efforts in R&D
department. Increase the R&D department by 5 more skilled employees.
C. Gap analysis-
New jobs for MIS
Increased skills for Research and Development
Skills for handling scalability and automation of system
D. Human Resource Strategies in alignment of the organization objectives-
Restructuring strategies- The HR department should be focussed on
restructuring the current rigid hierarchy by employing people from external
sources.
Training and improvement strategies- HR department should also be involved
with individual departments for providing training regarding the changes and
implementations in the new product development strategies. The HR
department can also include external specialist trainers for MIS and
automation training.
Recruitment strategies- Each department should communicate staff
requirements to HR managers and majority of the recruitment process should
involve external recruitment as it will allow fresh flow of skilled workforce
(Hickman & Silva, 2018).
