AI Summary
This report focuses on an AI-driven application designed to improve mental healthcare, specifically addressing the challenges faced by patients in the NewAccess program. The core problem identified is the need for patients to repeatedly share their stories with various professionals, leading to frustration and incomplete information. The proposed application captures patient narratives through audio and video, enhancing the diagnostic process by providing a comprehensive record and allowing professionals to observe facial expressions. The system incorporates facial recognition for data security and patient privacy, ensuring that only the patient can authorize access to their recordings. The report highlights the benefits of the application, including improved patient experience, efficient information sharing, and secure data management. The conclusion emphasizes the potential of the application to solve problems in mental health care, providing a foundation for more effective treatment and support.

hence speak less. This as a result creates problem for the professionals in diagnosing their
problems and refer them proper medication. This particular report discusses regarding an
application that cold b introduced in health care institutes which would make the process of
storytelling easier for the patients. It would help the professionals as well.

Introduction
NewAccess can be defined as an intervention program that provides health services to
people suffering from mental disorders. The mental disorders include depression, insomnia,
anxiety and many more. In order to go through their services, patients should not be undergoing
any medical treatment. The workers under NewAccess help the patients to get an aim in their life
(Briggie, Hilsenroth & Conway, 2016). They help the patients to recover from their mental
issues and lead a normal life by setting their aims and goals. This report discusses regarding the
mental misbalance face by the patients and the problems faced by the organization in solving
their problems. It further discusses regarding a system that could be introduced in order to solve
the issues in an efficient manner.
Discussion
Problems
Patients suffering from mental illness face various problems in their lives. The first
problem is diagnosing their disease. This is a very crucial part in their treatment. Usually people
go to the doctor for any sort of illness but problems regarding mental health are well analyzed by
psychiatrists. This process consumes a lot of time (Meuter, Gallois & Segalowitz, 2015). Every
time the patient visits a doctor or psychiatrist, he needs to express his story and problems faced
by him. This results in an irritation among the patients. Mental patients already suffer from
insomnia, depression, anxiety and many such similar issues, besides that retelling their story
makes them even more frustrated. As a result, they speak less and the entire story is not

conveyed to the professional. Especially the young children suffering from such mental issues
tend to be very impatient and do not speak much.
Capabilities
The pathetic situation of the patients had lead to a serious problem in them. This also
makes it difficult for the doctors to treat the patient well and proceed with the necessary
medications (Kazdin, 2015). A system can be introduced in the organizations where an
application would be used in order to capture the audio of the patient telling his story for the first
time. This application would possess the ability of capturing audio as well as video. This would
not only help the professionals to know the story of the patient without the patient telling it to
him. Along with that, the video recording would help the professional to see the patient’s facial
expressions. It is said that experienced doctors are able to know the situation of the patient to
some by noticing their facial expressions. This application would be available to all the
organizations and the story of a patient would be captured in the first instance (Karp, 2016). The
application would be completely safe and cannot be misused for ill purposes because the
application would secure it with the use of face recognition feature.
Benefits
The introduction of this application in the health organizations would help the
organization as well as the patient in many ways. The ways are mentioned below
Health: this system would allow the patients to share their story just once and it could be
accessible to any professional he visits. They would not need to share their story
everywhere they go, they can just scan their face on the screen of the PC that contains the

application and the professional would access their story (Parry, Pino & Faull, 2016).
This would also help the professionals to diagnose their disease and provide them proper
medication. With the help of this application, the patient would not get frustrated because
of narrating their story to every professional they visit.
Secured: the professionals are supposed to keep personal data regarding the patient’s
disease and medications secured and not use them for ill purposes. They are also not
supposed to share it with any other professional for any means. If it is necessary to share,
patient’s consent should be taken before doing so (Kohrt, Jordans & Rai, 2015). This
application would not allow the professionals to access the recordings without the patient
knowing about it. This is because before playing the video, the patient’s face has to be
scanned on the camera and hence the recording can be accessed only in the presence of
the patient.
Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that, the patients suffering from mental illness
need to share their story to every professional they visit. This makes them lose interest gradually
when they share their story all over again. As a result, they speak less and professionals are not
able to diagnose their disease and give them proper medication. The use of the application
mentioned above would solve these problems.
