AI Summary
This report provides a comprehensive system analysis and design overview of NewAccess, a mental health intervention targeting youth aged 17-25, with plans to expand to younger and indigenous populations. The system, utilized by Headspace, aims to address anxiety and depression by capturing a patient's story the first time it is shared, eliminating the need for repeated retellings. Key capabilities include automatic data entry and easy data editing for medical experts. The benefits of NewAccess include real-time data, improved communication, reduced risk of errors, easy data access, and enhanced security. SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
Introduction
NewAccess is the new mental health intervention that helps to store the case study of a
patient during the very first time it is being shared. This particular mental health intervention
targets the youth aging from 17 to 25 and is within the significant procedure of getting expanded
to all the young people, who are as young as 12 and even to the indigenous youth (Laudon &
Laudon, 2016). The specific organization that is using this system is Headspace. The following
report will be outlining a vision document that focuses on the system of NewAccess from the
point of view of an analyst.

Problem
The new mental health intervention, known as NewAccess targets youths of age between
17 to 25 and is thus in the process of getting expanded to all the young people, who are as young
as 12 and even to the indigenous youth (Bajdor & Grabara, 2014). One of the popular
organization that is utilizing this new information system of NewAccess is Headspace. This
system is mainly targeting anxiety and depression. The main problem that is noticed or identified
here is that a young person, who is mentally unstable, has to re tell his or her story to every
medical expert or doctor he or she is being shown. They often feel disturbed with this
phenomenon and even do not want to share their problems (Gallagher & Sixsmith, 2014). This
creates a major issue for the organization of Headspace as the psychiatrist or doctor cannot
complete their treatment properly.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
Capabilities
The information system of NewAccess consists of a number of capabilities. The major
capabilities are given below:
i) Captures Story in the First Time: The first and the foremost capability of this
particular information system of NewAccess is that it can capture the story of the mental patient
during the very first time it is being told. This will be extremely helpful for both the patient and
the doctors or medical experts (Klukas, Chen & Pape, 2014). The patients do not have to repeat
their stories again and again to every doctor they visit and will not be feeling mentally disturbed.
The doctors do not have to ask the patients about their illness or problems repeatedly. Moreover,
this particular system will be giving access to all the successive professionals, so that the stories
or case notes can easily become enriched.
ii) Automatic Data Entry: The second capability of the system of NewAccess is the
automatic entry of data. The manual entry of data is almost stopped with the intervention of this
particular system (Bharamagoudar, Geeta & Totad, 2013). This automatic data entry helps the
doctors in managing their case notes easily and promptly.
iii) Easy Data Editing: The next significant capability of the NewAccess information
system is that it helps in easy data editing. The medical experts and the doctors can easily edit
the data related to their patients and hence managing bulk information would be extremely
easier.
Benefits
There are various important and significant benefits of the information system of
NewAccess. These benefits are as follows:

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
i) Real Time Data: The first advantage of NewAccess is that the data it stores is of real
time, which means the data is completely up to date (Li, Hsieh & Rai, 2013). Hence, the doctors
can easily complete their treatment.
ii) Better Communication: The second advantage of NewAccess is that better
communication is possible with this system. The doctors can easily communicate with the
patients, without even knowing their stories repeatedly (Laudon & Laudon, 2016).
iii) Reduced Risk of Errors: The next significant benefit of NewAccess is that it helps to
reduce the risk of errors. Since, the data entry is automatic, there exists no chance of errors.
iv) Easy Data Access: The data access is extremely easier with this new information
system and hence NewAccess is extremely vital for any mental health organization (Bajdor &
Grabara, 2014).
v) Security: The final benefit is its security. This particular system is highly safe and
secured and hence data loss is not possible here.
Conclusion
Therefore, from the above discussion, it can be concluded that NewAccess is the new
type of information system that helps to store the story of a mental patient during the first time
they are being told. Mental patients do not like to repeat their stories again and again and hence
the doctors or medical experts often face difficulties in understanding their problems. This
particular information system of NewAccess helps to solve this problem by simply storing the
problem in the first time. Moreover, the doctors can even update the case studies periodically.
