Project Aim
The aim of the project is to develop an effective idea about the different factors that have been
affecting the health and well being of the women and the children attending Newham University
Hospital.
The objectives of the project are
 To understand the care needs of the children in the Newham University Hospital
 To determine the different care needs in the outdoor patients ward
 To investigate the loop holes in the entire process of OPD services in the hospital
 To provide proper recommendations for improving the services as and when needed

 What are the care needs of the children visiting the OPD of Newham University Hospital?

 What are the care needs of the pregnant women in the OPD of the hospital?
 What are the pitfalls in the OPD services provided by NewHam University Hospital?
 What are the different recommendations that can prove to be useful in this regard?

The Newham University hospital deals with the children health as well as meeting the needs of the
maternity patients as well. The topic is gravely important as this will be useful in understanding the
hospital operations and hence will be useful in providing for serving in the hospital. Developing an in
depth idea about these will be useful for the researcher to perform his duties as a healthcare support
staff in an effective manner. This will be useful in enhancing the skills relevant to the subject and will
be useful in providing appropriate services to the organisation.

It has been decided that the patients who are attending the children and the maternity wards as
well as their relatives will be interviewed to draw their idea about this. Apart from these, the
management of the hospital will also be requested to take part in the survey process. They will be
approached through verbal and formal communication techniques

How will you obtain consent from participants? Will this be written? How will it be
made clear to participants that they may withdraw consent to participate at any time?
The participants will be asked to submit a proper consent approval form. The participants will be
made to understand by means of oral as well as written communication, that the participants can
withdraw consent, anytime they want throughout the process.

The data will be stored in one computer system. Since the survey process will not be an online one,
hence the questionnaire sheets will be stored in a proper file, to be maintained by the researcher.

The laptop will be protected with a proper password and only the researcher will have access to this.

The data along with all the details of the project will be stored in the laptop as mentioned above. Apart
from this, a proper file will be maintained for storing the different hard copies of the project.

The data as well as all of the other relevant records will be maintained in the hard copy and the soft copy
till the final submission of the project, After the final submissions of the project, only the soft copies
will be stored for the next 2-3 years
