Summary of articles about learning in higher education
Higher education studies refer to that part of education where an individual get education
from University, college or maybe an educational institution. Students are more familiar with
technology and new batches, every next year, has more technology savvy learners. This can be
considered as the key reason that colleges are now using more technology in educating process
because their aim is to develop productive workforce for future and technologically efficient
students are more productive. Educational institutions are teaching in various fields like business,
nursing, economics and other academic courses. The article is basically talking about 10
technologies that will prevail in future and if students can learn something outside of the college
then they should learn about these technologies (Scales and Bauman, 2019).
On-Line Classes are going to be new normal in future because of many reasons like
feasibility and improved Information Technology infrastructure. Physical presence of students
may decline in higher education as teaching session and learning material will be available
online. 3D printer and virtual reality are going to make big changes in whole education system
as these technologies can provide real life experience to students without getting any
employment. Electronic health records, Technologies used in nursing will be crucial for higher
education as they can reduce gap between classroom learning and real life situations. Unfolding
video cases, Simulation and Virtual simulations also provide realistic opportunities to students.
YouTube and Smart phone technology is making classroom learning interesting; it is going to be
more popular in upcoming time. National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is using
secure computerized testing in order to give similar kind of environment to students so they can
get aware of real circumstances (Scales and Bauman, 2019).
E-Mentoring is another popular development in field of higher education. Facilities are
facing many types of challenges and opportunities in E-mentoring; some of them are similar to
traditional method i.e. face-to-face teaching. Mentors are considered as a person who has
experience and knowledge of a particular field. The process of mentoring involves nurturing
learner by providing correct guidance and needed support. It is basic requirement of every
learner in higher education as students are not aware about “how to complete dissertation”.

indentifying objectives and conducting whole research project (Black, 2017). If E-mentoring will
adopt a structured process then they can easily help doctoral students in learning duration. There
are various stages in completing dissertation; first is making a proposal but setting objectives.
Introduction about research topic is next step where students have to write basic information
about the field of study. E-mentor has to support doctoral student in whole journey as every
chapter is related to each other. Literature review is second chapter where secondary research is
done by considering perspective of different writer on decided themes. Chapter 3 is
methodology, it details about collection of data followed by analyzing same information. Chapter
4 is result obtained from part 3 and last chapter is conclusion. E-mentor also discusses
recommendation in last chapter.
