This case study discusses about the situation of falling sales of newspaper and response
of working as senior manager’s decisions. Managers response that identify the reasons for fall
sales. Different market research must find primary reason, the primary reason is that the paper is
printed too early on the previous day and the new is out of date. This company have 40
copywriters/designers. They have responsibility to designed to new content of each edition. Also
manage timing for working environment according to the situation. Senior manager has demand
to do paper written/ designed later in the day (Adams, 2017). The management wants to increase
the time of working hours so that sales can be enhanced. They want to change the timings from
10a.m. to 7a.m. from 1p.m. to 10. p.m. It will help in covering new stories and keeping it up to
date.

In addition, Manager wants to change working hours of copywriters. this will help for the
news will be on correct time. In this situation senior manager have statement that gives same
time as working but the term and condition will not have affected. Also, believe this to be the
best decision for trade union. There is no alternative option for this problem and copywriters
must have works exactly the same length of hours in return for exactly the same pay condition.

don't change working hours no matter what is condition, and its effectiveness on the business,
also they have complaint that they have option but no one is bothers to ask and the proposed for
