Approaches Used by NFL to Resolve Issue
There were different approaches which were followed by the National Football League to
resolve the issue:
 League conducted the extensive investigation in which investigators of league
interviewed dozens of witnesses including Miss Tiffany who alleged multiple
instances of physical violence since 2016 (Forbes.com, 2019)
 The advisors of NFL participated in meeting with Elliott who was being represented
by the legal team members and the association of NFL. The group tried to review
investigative reports along with materials and medical reports and the different
submissions of the NFL players which were on behalf of Elliott (Green & Carney,
2017)
From the various findings of the letter to Elliott which advised him of the decision
wherein the advisors were in the view that there was persuasive and substantial which
supported the conclusion that Elliott was engaged in physical violence activities against Miss
Thomson on various occasions during July 2016 (Pulj.org, 2019). After the viewing of the
different records along with considering the independent views of the different advisors, the
case was resolved through punishing him by the NFL by not allowing him to play for the next
six matches. Therefore, from the above, it can be analysed that the NFL needs to improve the
overall scenario by punishing Elliott as it is the main rule of the team.
The effectiveness of NFL in Resolving Issue while Maintaining Vision, Mission and
Goals
The central aspect which was followed by the NFL is that the authorities support the
different personal and professional code policies appropriately. The NFL has introduced new

conduct policy on April 10th 2007, it will help in controlling the off-field behavior by the
different players, and it tried to preserve the public image of the league (Hooper Jr, 2018). In
the case of Elliott's case, the NFL attempted to solve the issue by keeping a proper trend of
the different advisory authorities who helped in managing the entire problem effectively.
After the overall analysis of the different viewpoints of the team members and advisory
bodies, NFL has solved the problem by suspending the Elliott as the mission and vision of
NFL is to embrace the commonalities and each has the right to achieve as the organizational
goals are pursued.
Recommendation Provided to NFL for Resolving Issue Appropriately
The one suggestion which is provided to the NFL for resolving the issue appropriately is as
follows:
National Football League should not have shared the different news on the Elliott
case to the media as it showcases the problems in a broader approach in front of the
audiences. As media is one source through which the entire internal news of the National
Football League is being shared, and it creates a different and new story which can affect the
brand image of the league. In the case of Elliott, it was being noticed that there was an issue
which was faced by the NFL as the public perception was affected and goals were not
attained successfully. The media showcased that the overall mistake was of NFL as the
league punished the team members and it imposed painful punishment which was not
deserved by them.
