INTRODUCTION
The citizens of the UK are suffering from a very serious disease called Epilepsy which a
serious neurological condition and affect anyone at any age of life. Around 600,000 peoples
life is affected in the UK due to the disease and approximately 1000 people die every year
due to the disease. The impact of the disease is increasing rapidly and so the government of
the country is organizing many health care programs and diagnosis that will help in saving
the life of the citizens. National Health Services is an organization based in England, UK and
is providing the health and social care services to the citizens of the country on a free basis.
The organization was established in 1948 and is the world's 18th best health care firm
according to the study of the World Healthcare Organisation. The organization receives
funding from the public sectors like government and other public firms for providing the
services to the citizen at free of cost. The company consumes 15 % of the total annual spent
of the government that became one of the major issues for the government of the UK to
manage the annual spending for other services (NHS, 2019).
The aim of the assignment is to resolve the issues faced by the National Health Service
Organisation regarding the funding to cure the citizens of epilepsy. In this assignment, the
learner comes to know about the aims, policies & procedures, funding strategy, benefits and
recommendation that the company needs to follow for resolving the problem faced by the
organization in the UK.

ORGANISATIONAL AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Every organization needs to work according to the aims and objectives that will help in
earning profit, growth, and development of the company. The National Health Service is a
health and social care organization that is providing free diagnosis and health care services
to the citizens of the UK. The main aim of the organization is the curing the citizen of the
country forms the disease that is impacting the life of the citizen and affecting the growth of
the country. The company consumes 15% of the annual spent form the government and
spend over £16.70 over providing the services to the citizens of the UK which is probably
very high in comparison to other countries like France which spent only £ 2.50 per person in
annually. The company wants to reduce the issues of funding that is impacting the business
and also the economy of the country (Benn et al., 2018).
The aim of the company is to provide best services to the citizens to reduce the impact of
epilepsy at a minimum spend that contributes to business success and also reduce the
burden on the public sector. Making citizens cure of the disease will help the company in
growth, business development, and profit and economy development. The aim and
objectives will help the company in improving the services and in resolving the issues faced
by the company on the basis of the economy (Travers et al., 2015).

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
Proper management of the activities will help the company in allocation, supervision, and
completion of task in a structured way which is necessary for the achievement of the aims
and objectives. National Health Services is a health and social care organization and needs
to manage the activities and operation for the business development and for the
achievement of the objectives. The company manages the hospital services, primary care,
community services and serves approximately 125,000 people every year according to
reports analyzed by the World Health Organisation. The company manages the fund from
the government of the UK and other public firms (Head and Alford, 2015). The company also
needs to implement the policies and procedures necessary for the business working. The
management structure of the National Health Services has to be enough strength so that it
will lead the organization towards success and also contributes to the economic
development of the country. In 1980 a black report is emerged of the company in which the
curing and life expectancies of the poorer people of the country is less, the main reason of
the despite is the financial issues faced by the organization as the government and public
firms are the only source of earning that is used for providing services. The improvement in
the skill, finance, and services will help the company in overcoming the problems (Greer,

Before the establishment of the National Health Services, the organization analyzed and
evaluated the market need which is necessary for every organization. The company founded
that epilepsy is becoming one of the major diseases which is impacting the environment,
economy of the company and also the health of the citizens. According to the report,
around 600,000 of the citizens of the UK are living with the disease of epilepsy and
approximately 1000 people die every year due to the impact and due to lack of sufficient
treatment fund. The NHS decided to cure the citizens of the UK of the serious cause of the
disease at free. The company took help from the government and public sector of the
country in the execution of the operation (KN, 2019). The company decided to analyze the
causes of disease and for feedback from the citizens is taken that helped the company in
making an action plan. Also, a SWOT analysis will help in knowing the strength, weakness,
opportunities, and threats available in the market that will help in analyzing the market
need. With the survey, it has been cleared that 1 in every 100 people in the UK is suffering
from epilepsy and is unable to rectify the impact due to financial issues. The company
executed the plan and takes 15 % of the annual spend for providing proper treatment to the
citizens of the country (Reilly and Williams, 2017).

TARGET COMMUNITY
Epilepsy is a disease that impact every person and of every age group. The disease is more
common in the old and people and young children. About 1 in every 100 people In the UK is
suffering from the disease and about 1 in 2000 people develop the disease every year. The
disease is a 4th most common disease in the world and affects approximately 65 million
people every year. According to the survey, there are approximately 2.2 to 3 million people
in the UK that are treated for the disease (Evans et al., 2016). The National Health Service
organization targets the community that is unable to take treatment of the disease due to
financial issues, lack of services and fear of seizures. The company aware the citizens about
the adverse causes of the disease and created faith and trust in patients mind by providing
better service at free of cost. The company targeted the community having a serious impact
on the disease and also that are not financially strong to take proper treatment. The main
motive of the company is curing the citizen of the country of the major impact of the
disease that sometimes leads to death. The uncertainty due to the disease impacts the
economy and environment of the country and so it is necessary to overcome the obstacle
(Woringer et al., 2015).

DELIVERY STRATEGY
The success of every organization depends on the good marketing service and profit of the
company through the services. National Health Service is a health and social care
organization that works for the welfare of the citizen by providing services such as curing
the citizen of the country of the disease that leads to the death of the person if not cured
and taken seriously. The National Health Service organization developed a plan for helping
the poor citizen of the country by providing free services. The company also adopted new
technology for providing excellent and classy services. The company uses approximately
15% of the annual spend of the UK government in providing excellent services to the citizens
and in overcoming the causes of the disease (EI, 2019).

PARTNERSHIP WORKING
The NHS has its collaboration at local and national level organizations. The partnership
includes private, voluntary and community sector organizations. These private and
voluntary organizations work cooperatively with public sector organizations that collectively
operate and finance health care including for epilepsy. Voluntary community and social
enterprises help in handling the health inequalities through delivering the services and also
through formulating the designs for patients, advocating and representing for the patients
and service users, uplifting these people’s voices so that they cannot be ignored and they
can get benefits for their problems. Voluntary, community social enterprise sector not only
provides services but also is a fund partner in statuary health and social care agencies with a
huge contribution in improving people's health and their well-being (Mockford et al., 2011).
The VCS help in building up the resources for the people suffering from epilepsy. This
relationship is empowering both the sides of partnership and the people too simultaneously
achieving the goal. The VCSE work closely to build the user base for the public which will
help in raising their voices for help. The type of partnership used here is a delivery
partnership, where the delivery of services can reduce the financial cost of the treatments.

ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE
NHS (National Health Service) is an organization that is only for providing health care
services for free to the people affected by serious health issues in the UK which was
established in 1948 after Second World War as a core reform to provide wellbeing of the
people in the UK. 60 % of the NHS budget is used for paying the salaries of staff and thus
NHS has been contributing to the economy by generating employment. NHS have been
rewarded by digital technology leaders award in the year 2018 because its website is UK’s
most visited health website that is visited by more than 43 million people in a month
(Mockford et al., 2011).

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
There is the ratio of one people out of 100 who are diagnosed with epilepsy so in order to
prevent the people from epilepsy the government of UK has initiated some policies, laws,
and programs for the prevention and cure of people which include epilepsy action plan by
the government of UK.
VSCE health and wellbeing program- the voluntary, committee and social healthcare well-
being program was aimed at driving the transformation of health care systems, to promote
equality amongst all the religions and gender. The scope of VSCE health and wellbeing
program extends to creating wellbeing of families, individuals, and communities. They solve
the health issues of people and minimize inequality amongst them. According to equality
law of 2010, discrimination is not acceptable so this VSCE helps people in coping up their
insecurities.
The epilepsy action is the registered trust for epilepsy and this scheme aims at improving
the lives of people affected by epilepsy. This foundation is helping people of the age group
above 60 as they are mostly affected by this problem and this foundation also aims at
wellbeing of children who are affected by epilepsy (Abraham and Lewis, 2014).
There are various laws and regulations which are implemented in the UK these include
health and safety Act 1974; this defines the right of people to avail facilities who suffer from
health issues (Russ, 2010). For provision and administration, the rights like the children and
young person bill 2014 which ensures the wellbeing of the children and that are the
responsibility of local authority.

SOURCE OF FUNDING
As there is longer life expectancy and the therapies are costly the demand for the funds
have increased tremendously so to provide funding private institutions were approached
and they have funded for rebuilding the hospitals.
Epilepsy has its main findings in from NHS as the UK government spend 15% of its total
spend in the NHS and over £20 billion will be spent on the NHS services between the period
of 5 to 10 years. The other sources of the fund include work and pension budget, education
budget and local government budget.
Epilepsy Action is a registered fundraising organization that is focused on improving the
health of epilepsy affected people.
For epilepsy research in the UK, the epilepsy research UK has provided a grant of £1 million
in for 12 research studies especially for epilepsy as their chairman believes that through
research not only lives of people suffering from epilepsy in the current but also will save
lives of people in future (Böhm et al., 2013).
