INTRODUCTION
In united kingdom, health and social care is a term that relate with the services offered by
health and social care providers there. Basically this term indicate or refer the whole
infrastructure of healthcare in both public and private sector. Health and social care combine
various factors such as biology, law, nutrition and ethics (Detels and et. al., 2011). NHS
(national heath services) is the public service based in UK who offer variety of health services to
its clients is taken under this report for study. Today majority of people consume the services
offered by NHS for better health of individuals. Workplace description of NHS and existence of
various elements which affect the action and activities of workers is all detailed under this report.
Role of a manager working in NHS for accomplish and achieve set objectives of firm is all
detailed in this. Further various concepts and aspects of working in partnership in health and
social care sector is all mention in this.
Description of workplace
Workplace is know as a location where an individual work for his and her employer.
This is known as place of employment this can be a large building of a office, home office or can
be a factory. Technology development play an effective role as this led and develop a virtual
workplace. It is very essential that all factors which makes a workplace environment more better
should be exist as this directly increase the productivity of workers. Workplace of NHS is is very
positive because firm use a collaborative culture to execute its activities. Better environment of
workplace leads to satisfaction in employees which help enterprise to extract the best
performance of worker. Happiness of employees represent the enterprise in a positive way while
on the opposite of it dissatisfaction of workers bring down the production curve. Main factors
which contribute to satisfaction of workers and are exist at the current workplace of NHS are
stated below: Clear advancement path: Disability of employees to move up in their career path leads
to their frustration and dissatisfaction. Firms that present clear career path to its
employees experience motivated and happy team members. NHS offer various
promotional opportunities to employees working at organisation (Betancourt and et. al.,
2016). This is the main reason behind quality of its services. It is very essential that
workers should information about the requirement of every position in enterprise. Further
employer of NHS has information about the fact that internal promotions of workers

leads to increase their loyalty, commitment, support and increase employee output. In
case of unclear requirement about the operation of business workers feel unimportant to
the enterprise. Access to management: One of the main and positive feature about the workplace of
NHS that all the employees are accessible to management means they have a direct
access to top authorities to which they can communicate in case of facing any issues and
problem (Bennett, 2010). This contribute a lot in making a positive work environment.
However in case if workers feels that voice is lost in firm than they start lose their trust
with company. It is very necessary that all employees should have regular access to
management of company about their concerns and issues. It is very essential employees
should have assess with management either through mail or through group meetings. Pleasant work environment: Employees spent a lot of time at their work. They have to
spend huge amount of time with their managers and peers that's why there is a need for
pleasant working environment. Improper infrastructure or equipments, argumentative co-
workers, and unsafe work environment make an employee unhappy. On the opposite of
it, proper or right equipment, clean environment and roomy work spaces leads to happy
employees. Competitive wages: When an enterprise play well and compensated their employees in a
competitive way for their work than in this case they feel valued. Environment like
rewards for hard work, work with incentive create a layer of employee loyalty. It is very
necessary that worthy wages should be offer to employees which can contribute in their
overall work satisfaction. This is one of the main feature about the work environment of
NHS competitive wages are paid to its workers to perform their duties in an effective
way.
Job security: One of the effective way through which employers can boost up the
satisfaction of employees is by offer them job security (Reeves and et. al., 2011).
Knowing the fact that they are safe keep them happy and increase their productivity and
profits of firm.
All these are the main elements of workplace of NHS which leads to satisfaction of workers and
enhance the profits of firm.

2011). This include setting expectations, objectives, goals, coaching, measuring,
monitoring activities and employee's work, identify issues, problems, provide feedback,
coaching, developing and training to workers to perform better in enterprise. Team development: Management of individual employee and its development is one of
the main role of a manager of an enterprise along with this he is the one who remain
responsible for the development of high performing team. A research has reveal the fact
that an independent team produce more results than a group of individuals work
independently. Setting overall direction: A manager is the one who set both short and long term for the
team work in an enterprise include vision, mission, objectives and goals of firm. Strategic
managers spend huge time in think about direction and mission of the company which
change timely as per the change take place in priorities and in business environment. As a
manager of NHS it is very essential to involve team members, managers of other
department as this help in setting effective goals and objectives for the firm. Being a supportive and important team member: Support of a manager provide
motivation to workers and help in get their support at the time of strategy
implementation. All this help in produce better and effective results for enterprise help
the enterprise in getting competitive advantage.

Do unique work: It is one of the most important role of manager to make sure that he is
doing his work effectively and his own unique way (Nutt, King, and Phillips, 2010).
Hard work of manager motivate his employees to do the same and contribute a lot in
success of firm. Manage resources: It is very essential for the managers to ensure that his or her team has
all the resources required to execute operations and to complete the assign task with
maintain the quality (Francesca and et. al., 2011). Basically managers of firm have all
information regarding overall flow of work so they can make improvements and
adjustments.
Self development: Managers of NHS are not just responsible for the development of team
members and employees. They are responsible for their own development also. It
includes participate in management training, different developmental assignment, seek
mentors, ask for feedback , read more about leadership and management and many more.
In this way they can ensure their continuous development or improvement
and can influence his employees for the same. Communication information: It is very essential responsibility of a manager to make
sure that information is flow from all sides upwards, sideways and above. Business growth: Success of the company comes under the prime responsibility of a
manager. Every action of him should be poised toward growth of business. Firm hire
managers to effectively run daily operation of business, guide workers, maintain quality
of company's product in order to fulfil the specific requirements of different clients. For
this it comes under the responsibility of NHS to continuous review financial and
production goals of company. If goals of company does not ensure optimum utilisation of
its resources than it comes under the responsibility of manager to do necessary
modification in it. All this leads to success of enterprise.
Training: it comes under the responsibility of a manager to ensure that every employee
has enough skills to perform their duties effectively. Effective orientation and proper
training must be offer to every employee to fulfil his duty (Creek and Lougher, 2011). It
is essential for manager evaluate success of employees on timely basis to identify the
training need. Take decision about the termination of employees if he is unable to deliver
satisfactory results is all comes under this.

Reflection of my own role
Being a manager at NHS I undertake number of activities in enterprise and contribute a
lot in success of company. I identify the needs of manpower required to perform various jobs in
enterprise. After that I collect information about the skills require to perform a job than do job
description and job specification. I attract large number of potential candidates for fill vacancy in
firm and than evaluate the skills of applicants and choose the best one to achieve growth of
company. One of the main advantage of this is that skilled candidates contribute a lot in success
of company and provide various other advantages to company. Managers of other department
like production and finance identify and fulfil only specific requirements of a company while I
select the candidates to implement the strategy in an effective way to get competitive advantage.
Further I identify the resources require to complete a specific tasks and collect the same so
enterprise can execute its operations in an effective way. I timely perform the performance
evaluation of workers in order to find their achievements and at the same time to identify the
training needs of workers.
Team development is one of the essential operation undertake by me to develop effective
teams in enterprise to achieve set targets and to ensure optimum utilisation of all business
resources. I provide direction and skills to workers so they can achieve desired outcomes and
contribute more in the success of company. All this leads NHS to maintain the quality of its
services which contribute more in satisfaction of clients. I formulate policies to complete every
task in my own unique way main benefit of this is that it motivate my employees to do the same
and enhance their research skills as they find new ways to complete a task.
Further, I do some changes in business missions and objectives as per the change take
place in business environment. I set the direction and communicate the same with employees
about where the enterprise want to go. All this ensure optimum utilisation of firm's funds and
help the company to get competitive advantage. Along with this I provide necessary support to
employees who work under me to provide them a friendly environment so they can easily share
the issues thy are facing during their work.
CONCLUSION
From the above information it can be summarised that managers play an effective role
and contribute a lot in success of a company. It is very necessary that workplace of an enterprise
should be positive as this help in satisfying the needs of employees and increase their
