Problems and Issues being faced by the Niagara Falls
As the destination can be mentioned to be a tourist destination, the different issues and
problems which are currently being faced by the site can be mentioned to be as follows:
1. Seasonal shifts: There takes place considerable seasonal shifts in the particular region
which then leads to problems related to management of the water flow and the tourism
aspect. In addition to this, as the climate change has been a constant issue in the globe,
the tourist destination is greatly impacted by the operations of the climate change and this
leads to the tourist activity becoming quite difficult to manage and the tourist demand
also gets affected (Ijc.com ,2020).
2. Heavy rain events: Another issue relating to the climatic problems which are being faced
by the destination can be mentioned to be the issue relating to the management of the
climatic conditions (Niagararegion.ca ,2020). In association with this, it can be
essentially mentioned that, very often the area received heavy rains and in association
with this, it becomes increasingly difficult for the association manage the various
operations in an adequate manner.
3. Hot days and heat waves: There are many days as faced by the Tourist destination
whereby there exists hot days and heat waves which makes the footfall considerably low
and affects successful operations.

mentioned that, the Niagara Falls belongs to the B grade assets which have high to moderate
market appeal but are very low in Robusticity. Here Robusticity can be defined as the fragility of
the tourist destination. Hence, Niagara in this scenario belongs to B1.

Solutions
As observed from the given solution and the matrix placement it can be rightfully
mentioned that the given plan has to be adopted by the enterprise to deal with the problems and
come up with an adequate plan to solve the same:
 Niagara Climate Action Plan: An action plan needs to be adequately formulated by the
different authorities with the assistance of which the protection of the critical
infrastructure can be undertaken with respect to the climate change.
 The firm would also be required to engage in neighbourhood planning so that the nearby
areas of the Niagara can be protected accordingly so as to see to it that, the nearby areas
can be adequately saved from the destruction caused by climate change and related
activities (Healy, 2006).

 Another initiative which has to be adopted by the enterprise can be successfully
mentioned to be to engage in a climate change risk assessment whereby an assessment of
the infrastructure near Niagara will be undertaken.
 Another solution for the problems being faced by the enterprise can be mentioned to be
the adaptation workshop whereby the assessment and mapping of the future flood risks
will be undertaken. In addition to this, the need to undertake climate changes before
designing infrastructure will also be undertaken (McKercher & Du Cros, 2002).
