Joy Ellis is a well-known English crime writer and author of many fantastic book such as
the DI Nikki Galena series, the DI Jackman and DS Marie Evans series, and the Detective Matt
Ballard series of crime thrillers.
Summary of the plot/ story
The Night Thief is a superbly written book which is a part of very well-known and famous
series featuring Detective Inspector Rowan Jackman and Detective Sergeant Marie Evans. The
story revolves around the Detectives Jackman and Evans who tend to find themselves on the
hunt for a highly unusual burglar who seemingly only steals photographs. But then, late one
night, an elderly woman falls to her death after seeing someone in her home. Thus, the main plot
and synopsis of current book is based on finding it that whether she really fall or she was
murdered.
Personal experience
I am always a fan of action and thrilling books and like the suspense thriller. The book “The
night thief” is totally up to my expectations level and it had given me a thrilling and mysterious
experience. All the situation and included are effectively written to draw the attention and also
leads to and comprises of many fairly fast and scary pace through the book. Further, I had also
loved the way in which the Joy had describes all the characters which has effectively reflected all
the incidents and situation in a vividly and realistically that they seem just as real and maintain
the thriller and suspense till the end of the book.
Opinion
As with all the books in this series, it is also a very well-written book that is having all the
fascinating plot and riveting story line. Along with this, there is also an interesting mix of
characters that keep moving the story forward. Thus, as per my opinion this book is a must read
which provides a mix of suspense, mystery and thriller. In this book, the suspense starts at the
very beginning and maintains a high level throughout. Thus, in my opinion it is a good job by the
Jackman & Evans are on the case and an effective writing by the Joy’s as all the situation and

incidents are well explained and written along with the relationships between the members of the
police team are well described.
Recommendation
I absolutely loved reading ‘The Night Thief’ which is a gripping crime thriller based on
mystery and suspense thus, I would recommend it to other readers. This book, The Night Thief is
another superb police procedural from Joy Ellis which is highly Inventive, twisty and addictive
and Joy Ellis never lets her readers down. The person who like reading fictional book based on
crime thriller, suspense and mystery would definitely be going to like this book.
