Introduction
Registered Nurses are mandated to ensure person-centred practices and evidence-
based operations in their profession. Palliative, supportive and restorative care are the main
objectives of the Registered nurses in Australia. Nursing profession involves an inclusive
performance of all healthcare stakeholders. There are standards for practice established by the
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (Creedy, Jones & Shaban, 2015). The standards
guide the registered nurses towards realization of the professional objectives and healthcare
goals. The standards are seven in number. Each standard provides a criteria to be used in its
demonstration and evaluation.
Critical Thinking and analysing the nursing Practice
Situation:
 Critical thinking in decision making.
 This situation is addressed through the consideration of effective practice materials
like evidence-based strategies.
Task
 I will also be able to develop a reflection of my practices basing on my experiences,
beliefs and actions.
Action
 I had to come up with frameworks to be used in decision making

interrelated.
 For effective achievement of this standard, I had to recognize the importance of
experienced people in my nursing practice

 I had to identify appropriate resources for utilization in the evidence-based practices.
 Maintenance of a good relationship necessitates for an established collaboration
between individual stakeholders and registered nurses (Beauchamp, Missen &
McKenna, 2016).
Action
 Making a report of the identified characters is also pivotal in achieving this standard.
Result
 I appreciated the importance of evidence-based practices in therapeutic operations.
Maintaining Capacity in the Practice

 I had to respond to the made on my performance as a Registered Nurse. I also

 A progressive learning approach is also applicable in this standard because it allows a
gradual professional and personal development.
 The feedback provided to the experienced professionals creates teamwork, therefore,

Comprehensive Assessment of Conducts
Situation
 Establishment of good professional relationships and assessment of personal
conducts.
Task
 I had to apply the techniques and assessment tools used in determination of moral
behaviour of my fellow Registered Nurses.

Result
 Informative planning accounts was achieved through consultation and the use of the
available resources.
Developing a plan for Nursing Practice
Situation
 Nursing planning to ensure effective performance and patient safety. Communication
is one of the factors that determine the performance of the nursing practice, therefore,
strategies on how to achieve effective communication and interaction should be the
main objective (Glew, 2013).
Task
 I had to utilize all relevant information for effective achievement of this standard as a
registered nurse.
 The registered nurses appraisal and evidence-based practice are pivotal this

 I strategies on how to incorporate the fundamental principles of operation basing my
competence.
 The available materials succinctly provide relevant information for quality assessment

collaboration with the professionals because registered nurse’s performances and

Situation
 The quality of serviced delivered by registered nurses in their practices. I was
challenged by this situation.
Task
 As a registered nurse, I am delegated to ensure quality service delivery that accounts
for the safety of patients and other healthcare stakeholders.
 The achievement of this standard involves the evaluation of the practices done by
experienced registered nurses.
Action
 I achieved this standard by operating within the scope of my practice. This is vital in
the identification of areas of weaknesses that need improvement.

 Both clinical and non-clinical practices should be performed by a registered nurse.
Evidence-based concepts ensures safety and quality of nursing practices (Buckley et
al, 2015).
Results
 My performance was ranked the best and the contributions of the registered nurses
was appreciated.
Evaluating Results for Informing Nurses in their Practice
Situation
 Taking affirmative action in the improvement of nursing practice through
consultation.
 As a registered nurse, it is worthy to be responsible for what you are doing in daily
operation.

 Setting of professional goal is the main consideration for ensuring quality service
delivery to clients within and beyond facility’s premises (Balding, Leggat & Schiftan,
2015.
Action
 I evaluated the appropriate plan on the presentation and reporting process of its
necessity in all the practices in the nursing profession.
 Affirmative action is required to ensure appropriate reporting and informing the
outcomes of the practice to the concerned groups and individuals (Buckley et al,
2015).

 I recognize the importance of prioritizing on certain activities in the evaluation and
planning process.
How I have Achieved Current Leadership and Management skills
Nursing standards establish a base for development of leadership and management
skills. As a registered nurse, good leadership qualities are important in controlling the entire
nursing practices. Professional values and ethics of Australia recommends for effective
management of healthcare operations for achievement of professional goals (Balding, Leggat
& Schiftan, 2015). I achieved leadership qualities after upon collaboration with other people
within and beyond the premises of the nursing facility. The recognition of the diversity of the
people in the society will enable me to accommodate the characters of other students in the
university. Assessment of the conducts of other people within the nursing practice will
enable me relate well with other people not only in the university but also in the society. The
strategy of prioritizing is another experience that improved my leadership and management
skills. From this skill, I will be able to prioritize on the needs of other people especially those
with severe medical conditions. Collaboration and consultation with other professional
improved my skills and instilled humility and patience in me.
