1COMMUNICATION WITHIN ORGANISATION
Perceived barriers within the management structure that creates hindrance in
communication
The perceived barriers of communication include the linguistic barriers. On the basis
of cultural difference, there is difference in languages between the people who belong to
various regions. The company of NoJax hires the employees who belong to various age as
well as different ethnic background. This helps in the diversification of the culture of the
company, but also creates a lot of problems in the communication. The cultural barriers
includes the people from different cultural backgrounds and religions. Thus the methods of
communication of these people differ and their different values create a hindrance to proper
communication within the organisational structure (Madera, Dawson & Neal, 2014). The
psychological barriers which include the different mental issues such as the speech disorders
or depression often prevent the people within the organisation to engage in effective
communication with the others. Since the packaging industry involves different departments,
there can also be the special barriers to communication, such as the closed doors or faulty
equipments. Moreover there can be attitude barriers, the technological barriers, the
physiological barriers and also the perception barriers (Phutela, 2015).
Potential problems that management may have when communicating with employees
According to Madera, Dawson & Neal (2014), the employees and the managers have
to face a number of problems while communicating with each other. The most important
issue is that of the ego and the attitude. Since the negotiation is a very important part of the
industry, the people with different cultural backgrounds, find it difficult to communicate with
the management (Phutela, 2015). The people while working in a team often faces
misunderstandings and friction between the team members and the collaboration is absent
among them. In accordance with this, another problem is the passive listening. The members
of NoJax, do not listen to the other persons with proper emphasis or focus which makes the

workforce less productive.. Due to poor communication, there can also be increased levels of
frustration and confusion among the employees and this might lead to the lack of interest and
motivation in the work. The most potential problem due to miscommunication is the wrong
flow of information and the creation of a communication gap between the management and
the employees.
Obstructions of communication based on the culture of the company
The cultural differences in the organisation can give rise to the different obstructions
such as the lingual differences and the differences in the status. This is every clear since the
people who are hired in NoJax, belong to different cultures, as well as different age groups.
There can be physical separation along with the mental differences since there is a gap in the
communication of the information among the employees with different ethnicity (Madera,
Dawson & Neal,. 2014). Different cultures make use of a variety of dialect, gestures and this
is evident from their behaviour. Thus it becomes difficult for them to mingle with the other
people in the society. The cultural diversity gives rise to the difference in manners and
opinions, along with a variety of prejudices. According to Phutela (2015), the most important
obstruction of communication based on the culture in an organisation is the body language of
the management and the senior employees. The verbal or the non-verbal communication also
point towards the gender differences that happen due to the cultural difference. Failure in
transparency and empowering the staffs have a negative impact over the company and the
quality of the workforce.
