MANAGEMENT
Part-1
Identify personal leadership style
My personal leadership style is the democratic leadership style as I am able to
communicate with the team members properly and provide value to the opinion provided by
them. As pointed out by Tannenbaum and Schmidt (2017) democratic leadership style
provides a leader with an opportunity to understand the employees and ensure that they
remain a part of an organisation. This provides an opportunity for the employees to be free
among the leaders and provide good productivity. In my case, my aim is to gain full support
from the team members and so the adoption of the democratic leadership style can help me to
gain the approval of the people. Hence, this leadership style can help me to develop my skills
as well.
Development of leadership style
The promise that I need to make myself during the development of my leadership
style is that I always listen to the problems of the team members. As stated by Bolman and
Deal (2017) one of the important aspects of a democratic leader is that the leader is a keen
listener to the team members. Every activity undertaken by the team members need to be
analysed as well as understood so that I can understand their needs. This can help me to
become an effective leader and at the same time ensure that I learn from the ideas provided
by the team members. This can help me to assess my success in the leadership style.
Knowing to achieve success in the leadership style
The responses provided by my team members can help me to understand the success
that I have achieved. I can take an anonymous feedback from the team members about my
leadership style. At the same time, I can analyse the success based on the results from the

team members. This can be done by understanding the improvement of the results that had
been achieved since I had started managing the members. As stated by Covin and Slevin
(2017) understanding feedback about the success of leadership style is important as it helps to
analyse the skills and with it make changes in the approach for the future.
Part-2
Description of the non-profit organisation
The non-profit organisation that has been chosen is the World Vision Canada. Robert
Pierce founded the non-profit organisation in 1957 (Worldvision.ca, 2019). The reason for
selecting this particular organisation is that it helps in identifying and helping the families
that are below the poverty line so that they can lead a life of harmony and peace. World
Vision Canada is located in Mississauga and is the largest private relief and development
agency that exists in the country (Worldvision.ca, 2019). Not only in Canada, World Vision
Canada serves over 90 countries all across the world and is part of the World Vision
Partnership with over 483 members working in the institution (Worldvision.ca, 2019).
Mission, goals and purpose of the organisation
The purpose of World Vision Canada is to ensure that it provides help to the children,
families, as well as communities to overcome poverty as well as injustice. The fact that it
assists the people affected by the natural disasters highlights the efficiency and belief of the
organisation (Worldvision.ca, 2019). The goal is to identify the children that had suffered in
the hands of families or are orphan. The organisation helps these children by providing them
with the required sponsorship necessary for the future (Worldvision.ca, 2019). This helps in
securing the future of the children and with it secure the future of the families as well as the
community in which it works. The mission is to provide the basic need to the children such as

education, healthcare, food, clean water so that they can grow up in the society properly
(Worldvision.ca, 2019).
Qualities, strengths and weakness of the organisation
The quality that defines World Vision Canada is that it seeks out children that require
special attention. This provides the organisation with uniqueness as the focus is automatically
provided to the families and communities by the development of the child (Worldvision.ca,
2019). The strength of World Vision Canada is that the organisation receives grants from the
Government of Canada and is involved with various campaigns and advocacy such as 30
Hour Famine and No Child For Sale (Worldvision.ca, 2019). This helps in proper promotion
of the company particularly after celebrities like Megan Markel endorse it. However, one
major area of weakness of the organisation is that it spends excess amount of finances in
employing workers and rapid expansion.

MANAGEMENT
Mission of the organisation
The mission of the organisation is to serve underprivileged children so that they can
have a stable life in the society. It is necessary that every child be provided with an
opportunity to develop and grow in a society. The organisation will serve the Canadian
country on national basis, but in its initial years will try to set up a strong foundation in
Montreal. Two types of services that the organisation aims to provide include providing
education to the children about rights and ethical considerations along with taking care of
abusive children. The services will be offered by paid work force.
Strategic priorities of the organisation
Two strategic priorities of Children Care Workers include the development of the
society as well as the development of the children. The reason for these two being the main
priorities for the organisation is that children are usually considered as the underprivileged
part of the society. Hence, it is necessary to take care of the children and aim for their benefit.
Actions to let the organisation survive
The actions that can be taken for ensuring the organisation to survive is the
development of human resource as well as financial capacity. The reason for this is that
without these two resources it can be difficult for Children Care Workers to continue for the
development of the children. The strength of the organisation is the fact that it is aimed at
starting the organisation in a systematic manner whereas the challenges can come from the
already established organisations of similar types.
Describe appropriate members of the board
The appropriate member of the boards will be the managers. There is need for
accountants to maintain the financial status of the business. Help from the community
members is required.
