INTRODUCTION
The assignment report discusses the nonverbal communication and the impact of that on a
person's listening as well as the speaking skills. The Non-verbal communication can be defined
as the method through which the message to other person is sent through using facial
expressions, body languages, and voice tone etc. in this communication the words are spoken
or they may be written are not used and thus this communication is also known as the manual
language. The report will also discuss the various types of non-verbal communication, its role,
the relationship between listening, non-verbal communication & speaking skills. And most
importantly the report will also discuss the impact of non-verbal communication on speaking as
well as listening skills.

KINDS OF NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION
There are many types of non-verbal communication and some of them are discussed here with
their examples:
Facial expressions
The facial expression has the largest contribution in sending a message to another
person. The examples can be smiling face; sadness on the face, angry face, fearful face
etc., and these expressions of the face help the other person to understand what that
person wants to communicate (Burgoon et al., 2016).
Posture & body language
Communicating through the movement of the body or through making posture is also
another type of non-verbal communication (Cherry, 2019). Examples of this type are
movement of the body, making postures etc.
Eye gaze
Sending information through the eyes is also a type of non-verbal communication in
which movement of the eye speaks a lot (Burgoon et al., 2016).
Examples are: blinking of eyes, staring, looking dull etc.
Paralinguistic
This can be said as the communicating through vocal i.e. using the tone, pitch, loudness
of voice etc.
Examples are if someone is speaking in a hurry and higher voice that means there's
something urgent and wrong if a person is speaking in a very high tone with happiness
then something is good (Cherry, 2019).
Haptic
The touch of the person also communicates a message, example, women usually use
the tour to show concern and care and men use touch to show power, or control
(Burgoon et al., 2016).

THREE FEATURES OF NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION
The major aspects of non-verbal communication are:

information or message and these can be done through the eye contact, gestures, body

that person is saying yes but through expressions and body language the person doesn't want
to get a cup of tea. Thus this explains that non-verbal communication, listening and the
speaking skills share a close relationship and these are dependent on each other (Purnell,
2018). The listening and speaking skills are incomplete without non-verbal skills and vice-versa.
Another example could be like when you meet a person and ask how are you? And shake your
hand, your facial expressions, the pitch; the tone of your voice explains whether you are asking
