AI Summary
This essay provides an overview of normalization in database management systems, emphasizing its role in minimizing redundancy and dividing larger tables into smaller, related ones. It explains the three main forms of normalization: 1NF, 2NF, and 3NF, highlighting their importance in reducing insertion, updating, and deletion problems. The essay also touches on the significance of data visualization in analyzing and exploring data for better decision-making, particularly in conveying client requirements and visualizing the final outcome model. The document is contributed by a student and available on Desklib, a platform offering study tools and resources for students.

1NORMALIZATION IN DATABASE SYSTEM
Paragraph 1: Research
The normalization in the database management system refers to the process of
minimization of redundancy from a particular set of relations, and it also helps in dividing the
larger table into smaller tables and then establishing a relationship between them. The
normalization in database system are mainly of three forms – 1NF, 2NF and 3NF. The
normalization helps in reducing the insertion, updating and deletion problems in a database. The
main importance of normalization in DBMS is that it helps in reducing redundancy so that
similar information is not present within the same database (Eessaar, 2016). The three forms of
normalization are –
1NF: A relation in a database is in 1NF form if every attribute present in the relation has a single
value.
2NF: The relations present in 2NF must not have any partial dependencies that is, it must not
contain any non-prime attribute.
3NF: The relations present which does not have transitive dependency can be said to be in 3NF
form of normalization.
Paragraph 2: Critical thinking
Visualization can be referred to as the analysis and exploration of data in order to take
decisions from those analysis. The ideas that remain in the minds of client or the technology
team, if visualized may give a better visual representation of the final outcome model (Azzam,
Evergreen, Germuth & Kistler, 2013). This visualization of the end model helps the technology
team as well as the clients to take the future decisions so that the requirements of the clients are

met. The visualization of the ideas also helps the clients to convey their requirements in a better
way to the technological team.
