Introduction
It is important foreign student To learn few skills for their effective future. The following report
will cover note taking, sources of information, referencing and paraphrasing, plagiarism and
about presentation skills. Making a portfolio of all required skills and talents will help the student
to analyze how they will achieve this skill whatever they want and how they can use those skills
for their effectiveness.
Main body
Note taking
Note taking the activity which will help the students to write down about their learnings
whatever they learned in their class in their notebooks so that they will revise the topics in future.
Note taking is one of the most essential habit for an student. This will help the student to enhance
their writing skills as well as their analyzing skill. Note taking is important because it will help
the student to pay attention in the class whatever the teacher is teaching and write down the notes
(Vannini and Vannini, 2020). Hence, the attention power of students can be enhanced with this
habit. It helps to remember the things in correct sequence and it is also important because it helps
the students to better understand the concepts and remember it for longer periods of time. There
are some activities which can help students to make their notes neat and clean so that they can
understand them easily and effectively written notes will also help to generate interest in reading
them.
Notes should be made in bullet points.
Notes should cover short description about the topic.
Must avoid long paragraphs.
Using charts and maps will make it much better.
Showing relationship between two different factors with arrow will make notes attractive.
Sources of information
It is important for the students To analyze the sources of information so that the reader we'll get
to know that the information is reliable or not. Reliable sources are those sources which are taken
from authentic sites and non- reliable sources are those sources which are taken from inauthentic
sites. It is important for an student to use reliable sources and must avoid non- reliable sources. A
reliable sources will help the student to proof that the content which he is represents is correct
(Peng and et.al., 2021). Sources of information are used for secondary data where students used
those data which is already presented. Academic reports, projects and assignments are few
examples where sources of information is required. There are various kinds of examples where
reliable and non- reliable sources are used. In context of reliable sources, when any academic
report is written with correct sourcing and the writer mentioned that he/she has taken the
information from which site and at what way then it is reliable source example. On the other
hand, non- reliable sources of information are those data which are added in the reports without
testing whether the information is correct or not.

Referencing and paraphrasing
Referencing means the proof of the re report or content. References consist of those links and
authors name whose idea has been taken within the report. Paraphrasing is the activity where a
student write similar kind of paragraph in a different way which means he or she changes the
language but the meaning would be same. It will help the students to make their projects and
assignments faster with avoiding plagiarism. Students use paraphrasing so that they will submit
their projects and assignments faster and avoid to make efforts for collecting data (Kim, Park and
Kwak, 2018). Most of the academic reports are based on Harvard referencing style where the
student will mention the author name and the year of publication of the article within a bracket. It
is essential that the particular reference will be placed at correct paragraph. It is also essential to
remember that references are not in texted with those statements which are reflective in nature
which means the statements having I, me and myself kinds of words will not get in texted with
reference. In context of Harvard referencing if there are more than 3 writers of the article where
the information is taken then the student can only use one author name and for the rest authors
he/she must write et.al.
Plagiarism
It is the type of academic misconduct where a student fully copy the assignment and project of
another student and represent it in the class. Students are required to avoid plagiarism. There are
various reasons which will tell that why students copy the work of another individual and these
reasons are mentioned below-
Lazy students always avoid to show efforts to do their own projects and assignments by
their own and hence, they believe that coping other's work is shortcut and easier for them.
Lack of confidence can also be a reason for plagiarism because some of the students did
not have confidence in their own work and they think that they can do wrong work and
instead of doing their own projects and assignments they directly copy it with their
friends projects or assignment.
There are various ways by which plagiarism can be avoided and these ways are mentioned
below-
Students must use quotation marks and source the text.
Must try to paraphrase the article which they are using and must present reference for the
information (Albluwi, 2019).
Must read many topics and only read the authentic and good writers publications.
Teacher must motivate their students that they are having different opinions and point of
views and no one can be wrong in writing their own projects and assignments by
themselves.
Presentation skills
Presentation skills are one of the most important employability skill for a student which can not
only help in academic career but it will also help the student to develop their professional career
well (Thomas and Jayagopi, 2022). Here, a student must get to know about the ways to make a
