INTRODUCTION
Academic skills refer to set of effective competencies, abilities and tactics that an
individual student utilize to obtain high scores in an educational institute. It includes research,
paraphrasing, presentation, and other types of skills that make a learner effective. It is fact that
each academic skill play vital role in growth and success of students career, whether it is
personal or professional. The study will explain meaning of note taking, source of information,
referencing, paraphrasing, plagiarism and presentation skills. Furthermore, it will also specify
methods related to some above concepts. Lastly, the report will specify certain factors related to
presentation competence.
TASK
What is note taking and why it is important.
In academic world, learners may conduct varied activities and practices, which play
important role in their career growth (Durán-Bautista and Huertas-Malagón, 2021). Note taking
is one of those actions, which drive their attention toward recording important information that
they may gather from several sources such as books, internet, etc. It is one of the best practices
that learners conduct and take initiative to do that during academic period.
It may help to develop better understanding about lengthy paras contain useful
information about any specific academic topic, which is quite essential for each student to study
for, in order to obtain high scores.

pages, etc. It may help learners to collect essential data that each of the candidate utilize in
appropriate manner. There are millions of websites accessible and utilized by students, which
make them knowledgable and effective as well. With the help of online website they may learn
multiple things and gain knowledge about certain topics.

Referencing is defined as process of making work reliable and faithful in appropriate
manner. It is also considered as formal system that may drive the attention of individual toward
