PERSONAL MISSION.
Nursing has always been my dream job with the aim of always wanting help the sick in the
society and ensure the number of patients dying due to lack of proper care has reduced.
PERSONAL VISION.
My personal vision as a nurse is to ensure I have provided the needed care and support to all
patients. By the first year as a nurse I will make sure all the patients whom I have helped are all
satisfied and provide a positive review to my work.
PROFFESSIONAL
After a period of practicing nursing am planning to become a registered nurse with the ability
to help more people. Joining the council of nurses later in my career after achieving my
personal goals and vying for a leadership post is my long term goal to ensure am able to
help more people and also my fellow nurses.
LOCAL PRACTICE OPPORTUNITIES
Lack of sufficient resources in terms of enough nurses and equipment is the major concern in
my region despite the increase in the rate of infectious diseases. Being a region with high

population and few hospitals available the number of patients treated is generally so high. With
my passion to help the less fortunate and ensure all are provided the necessary care, my services
would be really needed in such an environment.
PREFFERRED PRACTICE OPPORTUNITIES
1. Readily available sufficient medical equipment should be a priority to improve
the quality of care needed.
2. Availability of enough hospitals to provide care and support to the
increasing number of patients affected by the infectious diseases.
3. Increasing the number of available nurses to ensure quality care and support is provided
to all the patients.
STEP INTO NP POSITION.
Moving to a my birth area is essential for my career since my main objective is to help my
society. I grew up watching a lot of patient that require more care than what was offered.
With the support from my family it’s easy to relocate with less charges and time required to
move and adjust to the environment. Raised by both a lawyer and a nurse I have all the required

skills as I start my career. The guidance and support from my mother who is an expert in the
field will help me through the tough first days. My goal of wanting to help all people receive
proper care and support despite their place of origin or cultural background will result to learning
of various foreign languages which will help in understanding different type of people who speak
different languages.
COMMUNITY SERVED.
Growing up in a community with all sort of ethnic people from the rich to the poor, from
short to tall people, both young and old people also people with all kinds of character, I learnt to
be social and interact with people and understand them from their point of view. With an aim of
becoming a servant of the people this has really help me grow socially and with the ability to
understand what each and everyone needs and try my best to help them in my best way possible.
COLLEAGUES.
TECHNOLOGY.
Technology in the modern world is an important part of performing the day to day activities
including hospitals which are not an exception. General knowledge on how to operate
technological equipment is essential. For example a nurse has to have the basic knowledge on

using computers to create data entry forms for registering ne patients, able to access the medical
information of a patient and also to print the documents for hard copies. A nurse should also be
able to use emails for communications and various mobile devices to access different
information that can help improve the services required to run day to day activities.
INSURANCE.
Most of the hospitals offer life insurance to its workers. Dealing with different kinds of patients
may result to having a liability insurance which cover human errors caused by exhaustion due to
a lot of work. Losses which may occur during working and are not included
in the available insurance may result to inclusion of umbrella insurance just as a personal
precaution especially dealing with difficult situations.
JUSTIFICATION.
Raised by a mother who is a nurse by profession and also my role model, helped me have
a great understanding of how to take proper care of the sick from a young age. My interaction
with different people from different ethnic groups made me able to understand how to deal with
different kind of people and ensure all are served equally and ensure everyone receives the best
care. My main goal as a nurse is to ensure all patients receive proper care regardless of their race,
gender, religion or place of birth.
LIBRARY
Most of the nursing books are available but the most important ones which has all nursing
requirement are The fundamentals of nursing, notes on nursing and the student nurse book.

RESEARCH
Most people assume a nurse’s work is just taking care and helping the sick people but it also
involves numerous research especially on dealing with rare diseases. Some of the
equipment used are updated day in day out thereby research is needed thereby research materials
should be available. A library is important especially when dealing with patients with rare
diseases since books are a rich source of information. Nurses with experience are always a great
asset to a team as they provide advice and guidelines to the juniors in the field.
ENVIRONMENT FOR PRACTICE.
Nursing being one of the most tiresome job, a good working environment is needed so that best
services are offered to the patients. The long hours required during certain times requires
availability of a cafeteria where nurses and other hospital staff can have their meals. A
comfortable relaxing place is important especially after working for long hours whereby
travelling home becomes a problem especially when patients require maximum attention. A 21-
day leave should be offered to all workers to solve most of their personal issues especially after
dealing with very tight schedules that require maximum attention and presence of a nurse. The
team leader should be the understanding type who is able to consider all options especially when
personal matters are involved.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN.
All patients brought to the hospital should always be the priority and ensure proper care is
provided and equality is observed. The nurses should also be respected and given a conducive
environment to ensure they give their provide the best care to the patients for example, ensuring
salaries are paid in time and at least a break after every eight hours of continuous working.
STANDARD OF CARE.
The spread of infectious diseases day in day out requires nurses to attend attending seminars and
get the necessary education on how to deal with the patients suffering from emerging diseases
and also providing a guideline on how they patients should prevent themselves from contacting
the diseases. Also interaction with other medical facilities with the knowledge on how to deal
with different situations should be encouraged. Team work between nurses should also be
encouraged to ensure the best care and support is offered to the patients.
SUMMARY.
Within the first years of practicing nursing I will ensure all my patients have received the best
care without being selective by ensuring all patients are cared for equally regardless of whom
they are. My main goal is to make sure proper care and support is offered to all patients since all
human life is important and should always be a priority to a nurse. With the emerging of various
diseases, most patients are affected and require support and care despite the kind of disease they
are suffering from or where a patient who requires support is located.
