QUESTION 1
The Preventing and Controlling Healthcare Associated standard, as per NSHQS aims to
improvise infection and control measures for preventing infections. Spread of antimicrobial
resistance through appropriate use of antimicrobials, is another key concept evolving within
Prevention and controlling of infections. Primary aim of NSQHS standards are to significantly
protect public form harm, to further improve quality of care provided by healthcare service
organizations. From my experience, I have gained knowledge and experience that quality
assurance of mechanisms that tests are relevant mechanisms that allows health services to realize
development goals. Preventing and controlling healthcare associated infections, as per NQHS
further plays strong role within recent time where immunization and effective healthcare
strategies enhances scope for new healthcare services.
National Safety and Quality Health Service Standard, further integrates strengthened
focus on analyzing new infection prevention strategies for analyzing controlled measures to
prevent future infections among people. Clinical governance and quality improvement further
prevents control of health care associated infections, used to prevent control in healthcare
associated infections. As per my experience, Preventing and controlling healthcare associated
infections aims to provide relevant practices in shape, for strengthening hygiene requirements
variedly. The 3.2 element applies quality improvement system for prevention and control of
healthcare wellness among people. It focuses towards healthcare associated infections and their
prevention among people. From my experience, element 3.6 of standard which is transmission
based precautions plays crucial role for assessing infection risks and use of transmission in
infection agents.
Patients risks are evaluated, where patients existing or medical history of infections are
analyzed a where precautions have to be further evolved as per external services requirements.
Furthermore, analysis of 3.7 standard and transmission based precautions enable us to gain
knowledge that service organization has specific communication responsibility of relevant details

for patient infection status. It is the responsibility for care is transferred between clinicians or
health service organization as per standard, also where varied safety measures can be understood.
It can be justified that, there are around 200,000 healthcare associated infections each
year in acute healthcare facilities within Australia, where sources of many infections are
transmission oriented among patients, healthcare workers and visitors. My experiences also
enhanced my knowledge towards infections prevention and control, which aims to minimize risk
of transmission and effectively manage infections which reduces development of agents further.
As per my knowledge and experience, my analysis also further leveraged engagement towards
3.12 element which is correlated to clean environment where maintenance of buildings and
handling specific requirements are essential. Another key element 3.13 workforce immunization
focuses towards health service organization which is risk based workforce immunization
program.
This can be justified, as it is consistent with current edition within Australian
immunization handbook, where requirements for vaccine preventable diseases addresses specific
requirements for effective working framework. Standard precaution consists of hand hygiene,
use of personal protective equipment and routine environmental cleaning as per hygiene
standards. Intention of standard is to minimize risk for patients in acquiring preventable
infections for enabling effective management infections, when they occur by using evidence

technique and gloves usage medically for ensuring sterility of equipment significantly. The
transmission based precautions are recommended further variedly in situations, were spread of
infections are further confirmed and new steps are implemented effectively.

QUESTION 2
While providing end of life care nursing services for a person, there are various strategies
involved which needs effective implementation and support from family members. End of life
care services also has impact on individual wellness for the person who takes care, for which self
care strategies need to be further evolved.
 Situation : While providing end of life care services, a family member arrives and further
demands why appropriate measures are not being taken to save life. The situation
demands effective strategies such as physical and emotional wellness to be delivered,
where supportive care and palliative care further are practiced by nurses. Recent situation
expresses concern by family member about not trying to save their life, where assessing
current situation of patient is necessary. The end of life care for person is being given due
patient requires palliative care and is facing chronic liver diseases and family love due to
multiple organs failure.
 Task : At this situation, family member need to be communicated about patient
sensitivity of health and medical reports for significant understanding. Further,
supporting them with family decisions and further heading on towards convincing about
new care strategies for the patient, as child is on end of life care. Nursing care at this step
plays strong role, where patient health condition has been decreasing in aspects of
wellness and medication is not also able to respond. At this step, further actions such as
building emotional and wellness care needs connect with family further should be worked
on for gaining support.
 Actions: Self-help strategies plays high essential role for people, involved in palliative
care and emotional distress where fatigue are also important aspects experienced by care
giver. At this situation, for person providing palliative care to person with life-limiting
illness it is essential for individual to be cautious regarding self-help strategies. For this
case, therefore I will be adopting proper eating and sleeping well strategies, relaxing and
looking after my own mental wellbeing. Significant focus shall be adhered further for my
own self-care strategies, where it is crucial for bringing self-optimistic attitude while
treating patient also. Actions plays strong essential role in this case, where handling
patient with positive attitude will enable me to be calm and handle stress of situation.

 Result : By adopting self-help strategies, care and wellness of patient will be more
effectively delivered and also this will further create healthy positive conversation with
family member of diseased. Result, can be also understood that this will also significantly
enable me to deliver end life care services by keeping sensitivity of case respected. Also,
by practicing self-help strategies it will be more easy for me to engage with patient with
optimistic attitude and enhance efficacy of treatment. Also, result further can be
understood as main aspect where by implementing self-help care strategies the end life
care strategies for patient will be given properly. Complete family support can be
achieved also by adopting self-help care strategies, with high clarity on healthcare aspects
which will enable me to be effective. Preferences of patient family, as per sensitivity of
case will be followed effectively for further period which will enable delivery of end of
life care nursing services to be done competently.
From the above analysis, it has been analyzed that usage of self-care strategies for patient at
end of life care nursing services plays strong role. The above discussed strategies will enable
emotional and stable connection to be developed with patient family, for enabling effective care
to be given. Also, form analyzing stages it has been worked on that palliative care demands
positive healthy environment to be around and also transparency in communication with family.
By taking positive steps and taking self-care, new care strategies can be further explored as per
situation demands with proper care and communication with transparency along with patient
family.
