1NURSING
I am Susan, a married woman working in Washington hospital for the last two years. I
feel proud to be a part of the Washington hospital, which is serving the people from the year
1958. Serving people with care and love had always been my passion. So, I chose the nursing
profession. I just earned the RN-bachelor degree in nursing (BSN) to advance my future career
as a registered nurse. The BSN degree enhanced my knowledge of nursing practices, simplifying
my way to become a perfect nurse (Duffy et al. 2014).
University Vision, Mission and My Goals
The vision and mission of the university coincide with my professional and
personal goals in life. The vision of the Walden University is to enhance the knowledge on the
learning community according to the need of the modern time to provide the best care and
advancement of global health care. The positive change in society is the mission of the
university, by transforming professionals to scholar-practitioners. I can relate to the university
mission and goal as I always wanted to enhance my knowledge to become a scholar in my
profession that I can apply my skills in practice to solve critical problems, bring positive social
changes and increase the overall health of the population (Edmonson et al. 2017).
The RN-BSN programme endorses the niche of my dream to become a scholar-
practitioner by providing advance theoretical and practical knowledge of medical practices, also
takes me one step closer to pursue a higher degree in nursing like MNS. The profound
knowledge I gained in the last few years in the course will improve my skills to serve the patients
with more efficacy.
