I am writing to express my interest and suitability in joining XYZ organization as a

I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) from The University of
Sydney and am seeking an opportunity to work in a regional hospital so that I can engage
myself in community life actively. I am available full-time and am keen to work in your

to gather more practical insights which I feel this role in your medical facility would bring a
keen sense of good nursing practice, achievement and experience through the application of
my skills in the multidisciplinary environment. My passion for work as a nurse and my
previous work experience helped me to instill confidence within myself. I worked as a trainee
nurse at Balmain Hospital, Australia and have achieved 90% of patient satisfaction. I have
efficiently managed both the patient and the staff and focused on delivering patient-centered
care rather than disease-centered care. I have been long impressed by this organization for its
outstanding reputation and service deliverables. During my internship days, I became well
versed in handling medical emergency along with mandatory skill requisites which helped me
to provide optimum care to the patients. Moreover, I am passionate about providing quality
care to the patients and enhanced my leadership skills along with following the NMBA
standards. During my graduation days, I excelled well at wound dressing, health promotion
and patient education. As a trainee nurse, my dedication, compassion, teamwork,
communication skill, problem-solving attitude, passion for learning has helped me to achieve
positive preceptor evaluation. During my employment, I was commended for proficiency in
record-keeping, patient education, budgeting, medicine administration, maintaining electronic

health records, care, and discharge planning. I was recognized as a reliable ambitious person
and proficient in handling emergency encompassing the patient and their family members.
I have learned about critical care nursing, acute care nursing, palliative care, and aged care
nursing and implemented clinical duties in my work that I have learned during my course
work. My course work and my internship experience has strengthened my confidence and
enhanced my observational skill along with analytical, problem-solving skills. It has me to
evolve as a person with good decision-making skills while dealing with patients from diverse
cultures. A strong team bonding and a positive attitude towards the situation help me to
achieve the best possible outcome for the patient through a systematic approach within a
person-centered framework. My character certificate provided my preceptor portrays my
character and behavior with my co-workers and the patient satisfaction measure confirms my
relation with the patient. Additionally, I have volunteer experience, which enhanced me to
justify my role efficiently. I keep myself updated with the new technologies by reading
research papers, journals, and understand the NMBA Standards more clearly.

Key Selection Criteria
I was in charge of 30 patients with different diagnostic procedures at a time at
Balmain Hospital. The patients came with several health issues, among which few need basic
care, whereas others need critical attention. The situation that I had to handle is encompassed
of 5 patients that require wound dressing. 10 patients with early morning and evening
medications, 4 patients require palliative care, 6 were aged who require assistance in most of
their work and five patients require critical action. My capability to work within a
multidisciplinary environment with a team helped me to coordinate and work collaboratively
with a registered nurse to attain high patient outcomes.
My task was to handle the situation, so I first assessed the situation, analyzed and
used the best possible evidence-based practice. The application of strategy and critical
thinking developed my approach towards patient care within an ethical framework.
Patient focused approach to care
Different patients had different condition so according to the complexity, I provided
patient-centered care to improve the quality of care and participated in quality improvement
programs and learned to analyze risk and implemented new strategies to minimize the risk
thus following NMBA Standard 9. I prioritized the patient’s feelings, engaged them in
decision making and supported them to deal with the situation. First of all, I collected data
and documented the health and functional status of the patients and interpreted it to RN. After
that, I managed and prioritized the workload according to the patient's condition and reported
to the RN. This attitude complies with NMBA Standard 5 and Standard 7. After analyzing
the situation, I demonstrated my skills by providing support to the patient timely and
introduced recent technologies to provide evidence-based nursing care.

A positive approach to ongoing self-education and skill development
Before implementing new technologies, I did a detailed study from the research
papers and kept myself updated with the recent innovations and consulted with RN to seek
additional information and improve the practice following NMBA Standard 8. This puts
forward my approach of ongoing self-education and skill development which is considered as
a key selection criterion, and this activity aligns with NMBA Standard 10. However, this
practice helps me to enhance critical thinking ability and thus engaged myself in continuous
quality improvement.
The action I took, comply with NMBA Standard 9 and Standard 7 as I engaged
myself in ineffective therapeutic and professional relationships following safety policies,
protocols, guidelines and thus shows the effectiveness of communication skills. In my
opinion, communication skill includes active listening, respecting their culture, prioritizing
their feelings and proper decision-making capability.
A flexible, innovative team oriented approach
While working with Balmain Hospital, I easily adapted myself with the work culture
and the work environment and prioritized the workload based on acuity and needs by
introducing an innovative team-oriented approach. To comply with Standard 2, I was focused
on delivering care that ensures the confidentiality, dignity, rights, and respect of the patient
and enhanced my nursing practice.
A positive approach to change and diversity
The result was quite impressive as my preceptor was highly satisfied with my positive
approach to deal with patients of different cultural backgrounds. She evaluated my work and
the outcome of my planned care for multiple patients came out to be positive. This approach
from my preceptor encouraged me and made me confident about my work. I feel my skills,

my passion for the profession, along with sound academic knowledge with flexibility, will
