Team refers to an association of several individuals within which all members perform
their work in a coordinating manner so that it leads to accomplishments of goals. All the
members within a team coordinate their efforts, strength as to fulfil common goals in well-
defined manner. Furthermore, within health practices, professionals, at different points and levels
are required to appropriately and effectively work within teams to accomplish effective
objectives associated with their practice, such as ensuring health and well being of patients. The

are different types of individuals who are possessed with efficient skills and knowledge and who
are required to perform their roles in an effective manner (Dyer Jr, 2015). There are ample
number of expectations from individuals which are associated with professional nurses working
in a health care sector. As an example, within a team, each individual shares a sense of common
purpose and is willing to work hard towards its accomplishment. In addition to this, it has been
determined that while working in a team, resources are to be effectively utilized. Furthermore,
every person is required to accomplish their targets within specified period of time as they have
several health related responsibilities on their shoulders.
Furthermore, it is stated that roles must be balanced in effective manner and every
individual must be given responsibility to ensure that they accomplish them in perfect manner
without delay (Gross and Kinnison, 2017). In addition to this, being a professional also requires
implementation of effective communication while performing within in a team. It has been
analysed that, there could be different types of conflicts and issues which take place within
teams in healthcare, that may hamper the outcomes of the task. Thus, being a professional within

team member and contribute towards enhancing productivity rather than uplifting conflicting
situations. Moreover, it is necessary to ensure that each and every individual is acceptable

creativity and cohesiveness among individuals. While performing a professional role in
healthcare sector, it is essential for participants in a team to be aware of code of conduct and
ethical guidelines. Furthermore, it is very important to formulate relationships with team
members, as this would lead to a better and supportive working environment, which would
contribute in enhancing competence. This will initiate work performance of each and every
member in a collective manner. It has been effectively analysed that collaboration acts as a key
part of building a successful team, which again, enhances competence within professional
practice (Hesse-Biber, 2016). Teamwork helps in increasing productivity as it reduces the
workload and divide the work among team members on the basis of their skills and capabilities.
While performing role of nurse and midwife as a professional in a team, a very crucial role is to
keep in mind the nature of work and ethical guidelines so that all the crucial challenges which
can hamper the work could be. Performing work alone at initial stage may lead towards increase
in heavy workload and can further bring costly decisions, moreover, would lead to roadblocks in
being a professional. Thus, team work allows to reduce the level of stress and ensure effective
accomplishment of roles and responsibilities in an appropriate way. Along with this, it has been
evaluated that team work effectively encourages collaboration and coordination and can further
offer practical solutions to issues as well problems. However, as reflected before, teamwork can
also raise conflicts and issues within the organisation. This further decrease the work
performance of individual that later affect their end outcomes or results (Le Roy and Fernandez,
2015). Thus, there are both positive and negative impact of performing different roles and
responsibilities within a team.

safety. Furthermore, being a part of team, career development is also possible to achieve the
individual goals of an individual as well (Redman and Maples, 2017). Working as a part of team
effectively aid in building professional alliance that can further lead towards better as well as
bigger opportunities for an individual. This will aid in accomplishing roles in more effective
manner and to achieve heights of success in their career. Being a professional and performing
role within healthcare sector, it is essential to build trust as well as strong relationships with co-
workers and further share strong bond in order to resolve conflicts on good terms and to maintain
proper working environment of the organisation.
Moreover, it has been determined that it is essential to trust on teammates as it helps in
providing a sense of safety and support to team members. Thus, team allow more effective
solutions even in tensed situations that further helps in ensuring best effective results. The
importance of building team working skills on initial stage also ensures about institutional as
well as personal goals fulfilment. For this, it is essential to boost confidence and listen to each
other ideas during critical situations so that solution to complexities could be identified easily. In
addition to this, working as a part of team required to be an active part to create positive energy

as well. While taking consideration of team working in healthcare sector, it is essential to build
trust and offer services in a best and professional manner for nurses by performing roles and
responsibilities with due care and accountability.
For this, it is important to work in a team as it allows in increasing individual
collaboration and brainstorming. It also helps in developing more critical and effective ideas that
further lead towards increase in productivity. It is not certain that two or more individuals are
always better from one in order to resolve issues and problems in best manner. In addition to
