INTRODUCTION
The role of health and social care professional plays a vital or the captious role to
improving the quality or access the healthcare for the population (Caras, 2014). In this
assignment it will discussed about the responsibilities of nurses and their personal qualities and
their importance. Moreover, this will talking about main differences between the role of non-
professional and professional worker.
TASK1
Responsibilities of the specific role of Nurses
The responsibilities of nurses is care for the patients and all individuals who are needed
health care. The nurses are responsible for the evaluating patients diagnosing and needs of the
patient illness. They play a vital role as an integral part of the comprehensive standards of health
care promotion. There are various responsibilities of nurses as a specific role in health and social
care are consider as below:
 They provide hands on care to patients by managing medications, observing or
monitoring the conditions of the patients, administrating intravenous lines as well as
communicate with doctors and keep records of all patients.
 On the far side the physical support or care are given, registered nurses gives emotional
support to the family of patients and sick person also (McLaughlin, 2016). Moreover,
they also suggest and support to patients or the generic public on disease administration.
They develop their proper medical conditions, diet plans and medications.
 The provision of therapeutic ward that is psychologically conductive, socially, physically
and the nurse must ensure that the unit, hospital as well as ward is adequately covered
with nursing staff of applicable speciality and care. And they should convey the quality
nursing care to patients.
 They record medical symptoms or history, collaborate with team to plan for the care of
patients, manage treatments and medications. Furthermore operate medical equipment,
perform diagnostic tests, educate patients about the illness, gives support or advice to
patients.

Analyse the personal qualities and values of nurses and their importance and different settings of
health care professionals
The nurses have their personal qualities that impact on their work. A allegiance to quality
underlies each and every features of nurses who have verified to be most prosperous in their
profession. There are various qualities of nurses which are most telling for on going and
upcoming success are as follow below: A caring attitude- The first quality that nurses should have which is caring by heart for
those peoples who are needed. The care of nurses in the duration of scary and vulnerable
times of their lives and generally the action is everyday and approachable point of contact
for families and patients.
 Self awareness- Nursing jobs differ in terms that how physically and emotionally
requiring they can be and in a various manner. Nurse should have self aware for their
career, work, profession and, priorities and interests.
The importance of the qualities of nurses, the personal qualities should have good
communication skills, it is important because in the career of nursing it is most essential skill and
basic foundation for any career (Towle, 2016). It is based on patients and team feedback, they
are capable to solve problems or they communicate with patient and their families in a very
effective manner. Other is Empathy, the importance of empathy, nurses should have softer side
of hospital bureaucracy and provide comfort and capable to feel warmth. They recognise the
symptoms or deal with their patients in a effective and polite way.
The difference between professional worker as nurse and non professional worker as
medical assistant. They vary in both roles that the role of nurse is treat bedsores, caring patients,
monitor blood pressure, administer medications to patients. on the other hand the medical
assistant role is scheduling the patient, book keeping, surgical assistant, insurance coding etc.

There are certain differences between nurses and the medical assistant in the health and
social care department. Hence, these medical career tracks can offer many of the same profits
and their responsibilities. Many healthcare worker affects to people for a positive change in their
life.
Medical assistants as a non professional worker-

The medical assistants should have balances set of skills among clinical functions and
administrative. They performing the clinical responsibilities by the instructions of doctors,
physician assistant and nurse practitioner (Wagaman, 2015). They rarely work with nurses side
by side. They set up patients for process of treatment as well as they communicate directly with
ill persons. And then they implies their questions and the explain all medications process to
patients and their families as well.
Nurse as a Professional worker
On the other hand nurses are responsible for the current tasks as per the demand of
patient and they have plenty to do with care of patients. They also provide care plans, diets and
medications so that patients could follow their path to recovery from their diseases. Nurses are
responsible for the documentation and legal responsibility. The professional worker
responsibility consider as checking on patients time to time, provide medication, answering
questions from family members.
The medical assistant reported to a physician, follow their orders whereas nurses also
have more dialogue with physicians who frequently hear their examination based on their
expertise and training.

Importance of teamwork and the consequences of poor team working health care team
The team work is an optimum method to convey the worthy health care to patients. The
efficient and influencing team work gives benefits for those people who suffering from any kind
of diseases. By teamwork the workplace will become productive and enjoyable when they are
work together and capable to manage as a team. Retention rates are raised whilst the safety
issues are reduced. The care of patient improves with smooth cooperation or increased their
communication. There are several importance that influence the team work in health and social
care are included as:
Improved Patient Responsiveness-
The health care practitioners for example nurses, doctors, they are working in team that
can be more responsive to alter as they happen. When the condition of patient is worst then the

team face to the leader, knowing that each and every member on team will convey out their
respective work or duties and responsibilities with some other people to solve their problems.
The doctors, nurses, assistants working as a team which inclined to create lesser mistake,
moreover they leading to improve patients consequences. They develops trust to knowing they
will fulfil their duties in the duration of situation and crisis, enhance confidence in partner etc.
Increased Effectiveness
In this, the team work is influence to their work increasingly. They learn about what
another givers to take complete treatment plans of patients. They need to know that their duties
all team members to work with each other in a very effective manner as well as they raising their
own skills. As a person is the team member of any team in healthcare departments so they
understand the roles and responsibilities of manager, physical therapists, social worker, nursing
assistants, physician and doctors.
Consequences of Poor team work
The poor team work or contribution and communication to the lack of improvement in
the number of patient in UK who were died in three days of a medical supervision. More than
70% of the people were died in a emergency admissions, who are frequently failed to be fully
evaluate before intervention for medical issues and health problems. The report in UK
recommends that, by the team work, in taking decision to operate in the complex cases, where
there is a high probability of deaths of persons so they require critical care. According to poor
team work in UK they were take decisions very late and did not provide a proper treatment to the
patients.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it has been concluded that the responsibilities of healthcare
professionals for example nurses. Moreover, the responsibilities and roles of nurses and their
personal qualities as well as importance. It has been terminated that difference between health
care professionals and non healthcare professional as a medical assistant. Furthermore, the
importance of team work and consequences of poor team work in HSC.
