INTRODUCTION
Nursing is the practice of care at care homes and hospitals. It major purpose is to provide the
optimum safety to the health of patients while getting treatment from the medical professional.
The current report includes the reflection upon NMBA Registered Nurses Standards for Practice
for the purpose of ascertaining its contribution towards developing patient quality care safely and
appropriately. There are seven different standards in NMBA Registered Nurses Standards for
Practice which are integrated with each in direction of providing better outcome to patients
(NMBA, 2020). The main message delivering by the NMBA nursing standards is related to
obtaining high quality care by an individual, effective identification of aspects that are important
to proficient nursing care and ensuring the placement of different measures so the care
effectively meets standard needs.
At the time of working within in hospital, I have taken the consideration of two standards for
improving service incudes comprehensive conducting of assessments and providence of safe,
appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice.
Standard 1: Comprehensive conducting of assessments
This is one of the effective nursing standard out of the seven provided by NMBS. The main
aim of this standard is to direct the working of nurses so they will provide best care services to
the patients. This standard directs in the direction of regular assessments of patient at different
intervals in comprehensive manner for the purpose of ascertaining information about actual
health and deviations within health as compared to previous results. The importance of this
exercise is prominent towards optimum care to patient and creating trust that they are getting the
treatment in benefit of their health from where they can recover fast. These assessments also
provide the opportunity to medical professionals that use such information for the purpose of
further medications and treatment so able to fasten the process of recovery (Bamford-Wade. and
et al., 2020).
While, I am working within care service organisation as nurse, I have the duty to regarding
handling of whole ward patients and providence of optimum care. I am working in very hectic
schedule where I had to assess the health all patients in all terms and disseminate the same to
medical professional. The approximate number of patients in ward at one time are around 20.
The work was really difficult to perform due to the different behaviour, nature, culture and

medical conditions of patient. The accurate assessment is important in this field as directly linked
with the life of patient. I had sense of responsibility towards my work and want to provide
maximum care to patients so they can recover faster. There were many instances where patients
denied and not supportive for regular assessments. Also, they had the behaviour about the
misrepresentation of issues. This created the difficulties regarding their effective assessment
along with ascertainment of true information which will be beneficial for medical professionals
to build further decisions about medication. I don’t care about their behaviour at that time and
performed my duty with patience. I took the use of many practices to change their behaviour
where conveying the benefits, no extra charge and part of the treatment. These patients were
most time consuming at the time of assessment. But, this time was coped by me from the patients
that were clam and supportive for the assessment (Cashin and et al., 2017).
I had the feeling of tiredness due to everyday dealing with patients of different nature, but
simultaneously had internal satisfaction that able to complete my duties in the satisfied manner
where able to ascertain appropriate health information. The relation of NMBA standard about
comprehensive conducting of assessments has positive relation with mine clinical experience. I
had the sense of responsibility that did not allowed me disgracing of the patients who were not
supportive with me (Wilson and et al., 2019).
The positive experience gained by me in relation to the standard that able to justify core
concept as demanded by the requirements of standard. I was able to conduct assessment of all
patients along with ascertainment of true information irrespective of facing different hindrances.
The negative experience grabbed by me in relation to the fulfilment of standard was the negative
behaviour of some patients where they did not support to do the regular assessments. The role
which will be performed by me after graduating as registered nurse that building awareness
among the patients and staff members about the need of regular assessment and its support in
further medication (Fisher, 2017).
The sense that will be ascertained from the clinical experience is the working of nurse is not
simple and always attached with large number of hindrances. The nurses must have to focus over
adherence of standards along with performance of duties in each type of situation. It is gathered
from the outside literature that same kind of clinical experience had both positive and negative
impact over performance of nurse (Terry and et al., 2017). There were many who quit to do the
assessments because not able convince or provide the time who were ready in actual for

assessments. Also, many nurses were take the initiative to influence the behaviour by defining
benefits and growth in recover rate.
The aspects that will be done by me in future to improve nursing is providing actual benefits
of effective treatment. It has been concluded from my experience and analyse that adherence of
standard is important to improve nursing practices (Fisher, 2019).
In future, if same situation will be occurred then I must provide proper consultancy about
the associated benefits along with clearing about the medical procedures. Also, try to influence
through taking the opinions of those who will be in support.
Standard 2: Providence of safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing
practice
This is also one of the important standard from the all seven provided by NMBA. This
standard has the main aim related to directing the actions of nurse towards the patient that use
safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practices. It creates the obligation that never
does or adopt the practice that has harmful impact over patients. This has further contribution
towards the development of medical services along with creating trust among the patients that
they will be cared properly. This will direct the nurses to always check the activities they going
to perform is safe and qualitative in nature towards the life of a person irrespective to the any
situation (Keast, 2016).
While performing the service as nurse within the hospital, I always preferred to adopt the
practices that were safe and appropriate towards the patient according to their medical condition.
Also, I always preferred to provide responsive service to the patient who need most at the time. I
had sense of responsibility while performing the role of nurse within care service organisation.
One of the incident was occurred in past in relation this, where I provided the urgent necessary
services beyond to the completion of necessary documentation process (Takashima and et al.,
2019). It is clear that all care service organisation has some procedure before the admission of
patient. This is must to perform because help to get the information about cause of disease or
injury among the patients. In the similar case, I preferred to first provide the basic attention to
patient so able to relive him from pain as early as possible. At that time, I faced the few negative
consequences too due to the non-adherence of the care service organisation procedure (Lyons
and Bliss, 2018).

I had the feeling or thought regarding the optimum care of patient before completing any
kind of documentation formalities. I did the same and take the responsive and appropriate action
towards the safety of patient. I also had the feeling that this must have some negative
consequences in future due to the failure in adhering care service procedure. This same was
happened where I had to listen from the professionals. The relation of this experience has
positive with NMBA standard. I fulfilled my duty where I take cared of patient in responsive,
safe and appropriate manner (Nagle and et al., 2017).
The positive experience I had in relation to the NMBA standard that able to provide the
treatment to a person who was in need at the time. I did not care about the documentation and
first took the appropriate action that help to provide relive from pain. I also had the negative
experience from the same instance in relation to fulfilment of NMBA standard that had to listen
the professionals due to working beyond to the common procedure setup by a care service
organisation. The main rile of mine after graduating as registered nurse that must appeal to the
care service organisation to change their policies for the serious or needy cases where treatment
is necessary before ascertainment of cause (Nagle and et al., 2019).
It was ascertained from the clinical experience that care service organisation has rigid
behaviour towards adherence of their procedure irrespective to the standards and norms
formulated by different associations. I also ascertained that at the time of evaluating the
performance they properly took the support of standards. This behaviour of management creates
the confusion among staff about what approach the followed to work effectively within an
organisation. From the analysis of the similar outsider situations, ascertained that in many cases
nurses were leave their job. Also, there were many who stuck in the organisation by adhering
same politics as organisation played with their employees. It was also gathered from the analysis
of outside literature, all the care service organisations have similar kind of behaviour towards the
fulfilment of procedure and taking the action against the employee who not adhere the same
(Ossenberg, Mitchell and Henderson, 2019).
It has been concluded from the above experience and analysis that all the care
organisations have similar policies regarding admission of patient along with evaluation of
employees on the basis of standards provided by associations.
If it occurs again, one thing would be helpful for me to safeguard against the action that
ascertaining the support of professional. This can be further used as appropriate action towards
