Overview of part 1 topic

Finding permanent employment in a care organization and maintaining it for an extended period of

time is becoming difficult for nurses. The stress level associated with the profession is increasing

whereas perks and salaries are an all-time low. As a result, more and more nurses are considering

part time employment to fend for themselves. Most nurses have to work over 37.5 hours and also

overtime if the situation arises. Newly graduated nurses are preferring to work as part time nurses

that provided them freedom to choose their working hours and shifts. This also allows them to look

over their personal duties.

Nurses were hired to act as a connecting link between the doctors as well as the patients. Due to

increasing pressure and the higher number of patients each nurse
has to look after, the quality of
service and care provided to the patients is compromised. Nurses looking after lower number of
