the only care provider of the family. Judy has
gain 30 pounds of weight from fast food and
has difficulty in controlling her blood sugar.
Health – Judy has recently diagnosed with
type 2 diabetes. Due to her additional shifts in
Tim Hortons, she is unable to take good care
of her health. She has been eating more fast
foods to keep herself going. She has also
gained 30 pounds weight, while having
difficulties in her blood sugar control. She
also feels anxious nowadays, to fulfill all the
responsibilities. Her health history indicated
asthma in childhood, which has been
controlled well.

here. She can only skype her family once in a
week in Ghana.

First Nursing Intervention

her life-stresses. Active listening will aid her
in feeling like she can discuss her stress
openly. Discussing openly about the stress is
also helpful in reducing it (Harvey, 2015).

reduction technique such as yoga, deep-
breathing and it is also important to suggest
the patient for consulting a dietician in order
to control her diabetes with proper and

healthy weight as well. Deep-breathing
technique will also help in managing her

with her family members and to spend more
