My future dream is to become a registered nurse. As a nurse, I will be able to use my
profession in any part of the world. The reason why I want to pursue nursing profession is
because of my personal experience and interests in caring for others. I will be able to work with
many people from different backgrounds including both health care specialists and patients.
Besides, nursing as my dream career will allow me the flexibility to have a family. I understand
that the nursing profession requires a lot of training and education, which is why I always put my
efforts on my foundation in health science education. Some examples of how students can
incorporate with the nursing profession include insight, critical thinking and analysis. Some
essential skills that I possess which can help me in nursing profession includes critical thinking,
attention to details, compassion and confidence.
Currently, there is an ongoing need for nurses in almost every part of the world. This has led
nursing profession to be a good job security with a range of professional opportunities and a
competitive salary. The primary roles of a registered nurse include performing all physical
examination and recording the health histories of patients before making any critical decisions,
administering medications and other prevention interventions. Besides, it is the responsibility of
the nurse to provide health promotion, counselling clients, and educating them on their illness
conditions. Also, the nurse has the responsibility in coordination of care by collaborating with
other health care professions and taking part in the research. Some examples of potential
challenges to the above roles may include shift work, exposure to trauma and emotional impact.
My account of specialisation is emergence. Some examples on how my nursing profession
will contribute to my chosen specialists include providing first aid, providing medical care in a
wide range of situations such as major trauma or minor injuries and fever. Besides, my nursing
profession can provide support to empowerment; provide strategies to overcome any barriers and

provide personal support. My chosen profession can also support individuals under emergencies
by ensuring easy access to essential health care and social services, ensuring their access to
appropriate care and maintaining protection of their wellbeing by strengthening their community
and family support.
As a specialized emergency nurse, I will be able to go back to my home country India to them
cope with the emergence care crisis. Recently there have been many cases of emergence care
crisis in hospital setting. For example, in 2013, about 150,000 people in India died as a result of
accidents and more than the death toll from various infectious diseases. This number of death is
about 45 % of people leaving in the Maldives. During that year, it was reported that about 74,350
people died as a result of communicable illnesses excluding HIV/AIDS. This has led to a
significant portion of the burden of ill-health in India whereby 50% to 70% of all orthopaedic
beds in Indian hospitals are occupied by patients with major traumas and minor injuries from
road accidents and communicable diseases. As an emergency nurse, I will be able to care for
these patients for quick recovery.
