disruption in any one of the components of this model will cause failure of this model. To
resolve this problem, interactive model of communication is evolved. In this model,
communication is bi-directional. When the sender sends a message, the receiver will respond

requirement. In the third model, it discussed that, communication is multi-level process and the
receiver and the sender are very much active in receiving and sending information (Robertson-
Malt. & Chapman, 2015).
Response question 2
Active listening refers to a specific communication skill that is very much
important for the health care professionals for giving their best care to the patients of a
health care sector. The listening skill of the health care professionals is dependent on the
cultural and subcultural context of the health care giver. In active listening there is some
components and they are visual contact, verbal tracking , vocal quality and body
language. Like the case scenario, when the health care professionals are working with a
lots of patients, the facial expression of the patients, gesture of the patient body also
become the part of the communication. In a busy schedule of the health care can hamper
the active listening and lack of proper listening to the patient will create information gap
between the patient and the nurse. Moreover, without a proper information about the
patients of the hospital, there will be a lack in the treatment. So it can be sad that without
listening the patient properly, achieving the treatment goal is very much difficult
(Robertson-Malt. & Chapman, 2015).
As the condition is very noisy and there is too much business on that day,
the active listening condition will definitely hamper. However, this condition should be
overcome to give proper treatment to the patient. In order to manage this situation, the
nursing personnel can use non-verbal communication as much as possible instead of
verbal communication. Using head nods and key words may also be very effective in this
condition.

Response to question 3.
There are various factors that influences the choosing of the carrier path.
From childhood, the profession of the health care professional is very much attractive due
to its nobility. The health care professionals are serving the multi- cultural people without
showing any discrimination. Along with this, interests in learning various language also
influence process of choosing the carrier path.
In case of choosing other health care professional, there are various
hindrances. The main problem for which, this profession is chosen is that in other role of
medical professionals, the interaction with the patients is very less. In case of nursing
profession , the nurses are the only caregiver in the hospital and they are directly
communicating with the patients. Most of the time they are with the patients . However,
the nurses even spend more time with the patients than the doctors. This will help in
achieving the primary target, that is communicating with various people, of being a
nurse. Moreover, nursing personnel in Australia, have an overall good satisfaction about
their job. This issue also motivates while choosing the carrier as a nurse (Atefi et al.,
2014).
The other professions like doctor, psychologists, physiotherapists,
nutritionist may influence the decision of choosing the carrier path. Those professions are
also related with the interaction with various types of individuals but the interaction
period is as long as the nurses. So, choosing the carrier option other than the nurse will
ultimately alters the main goal.

Response to question 4.
Confidentiality refers to the right of a patient to keep all the information
about his/ her health and those information should be kept very much personal. The
patient information is only visible to the doctors, nurses and other health care
professionals who are associated with the treatment process. It will be accounted as
confidentiality breaching if the health care giver shared the information with others or
anyone other than the health care giver access those information without prior
information (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia ,2018). In this case, it is seen
that nursing personnel Amira has treated a critical wound of the Pearl and this type of
wound treating is very much new to Amira. After treating that, Amira should not share
those information with others and not even with her student. However, it is seen that,
Amira showed the critical wound of Pearl to her students and also described the case of
Pearl to her student. This information leaking is directly associated with the
confidentiality breaching in this case scenario.
Amira has shared all the information related to Pearl to her fellow student
and also encouraged them to observe the wound of Pearl. After that, all the student in the
evening had gathered in the room to see the Pearl’s wound by removing the dressing.
This is very much wrong practice as the deep wound may be infected by various
microbes as the room was not appropriate for wound treatment. Along with this, touching
the wound by the fellow students may also cause infection and the wound will be more
complicated. In this case, the students are not maintaining proper hand hygiene and this
may cause severe problem to Pearl.
