INTRDOUCTION
Nursing is defined as the profession which fulfil the responsibility of providing care to
injured, sick, disabled or dying people as well as to encourage overall health and wellbeing in
society.
MAIN BODY
Nursing and related self-values
In my opinion nursing is role in which one if expertise and committed to serve the
community and to provide care and health safety to individuals and communities. The core belief
of nursing profession is to provide physical, mental as well as emotional care and support to
individual who are in need without any cultural, economic social or physical bias (Collier, 2018).
Along with this nurses are also assumed to be highly dedicated and expertise in their work as
their professional outcomes are directly associated with the life and life quality of individuals
and their family. Thus nurses must also have empathy, strength, ethics, integrity and social
justice so that they can provide high quality care to all individuals.
Culture and its influence on nursing
Being in nursing profession I will get chance to serve people of different ethnicity, gender,
age and culture. Their value and beliefs may vary from mine. Thus I must possess cultural
empathy and sensitivity so that as nurse when I am communicating with other individuals I can
show respect to their values and culture. Within nursing practices culture is an important aspect
because to engage individuals in decisions making nurses must ensure that cultural sensitive
practices are taken into consideration so that individuals can accept the treatment and decisions
made by nurses (Bahçecioğlu Turan, Özer and Çiftçi, 2021).
Impact on society
As a nurse a highly significant impact can be made on society because all societies need
support and care to maintain their emotional, psychological and mental wellbeing. Thus without
contribution of professional and expertise nurses it can be impossible to manage and deliver the
quality health outcomes in the society. If nurses will not show empathy and their self-less care
and dedication, then communities will not be able to lead a healthy and satisfactory live and it
will not only affect their wellbeing or life expectancy but social quality of life as well.

Strategies to show commitment
The most prominent strategy which show the commitment towards nursing profession is
time management and empathy towards the pain and need of others. Within nursing and health
care processions individuals are required to provide care without restricting themselves to any
time boundaries or insensitive behaviour. Thus nurses must be able to manage and deal with the
long and stressful working hours and traumatic working conditions which an ordinary individual
may not handle normally. Thus nurses must have leadership as well as strong mental abilities so
that they can cope up with the painful and traumatic experiences and can make correct decisions
without getting nervous or emotional (Registered nurse standards for practice, 2022).
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that nursing is professional which requires utmost care, expertise and
self-less dedication towards work. Thus professionals must be highly committed and responsible
towards the profession.
