It is no doubt that the health care system has undergone tremendous changes in the last
couple of decades now. Apparently, it would be unfair to say that the development of the
healthcare sector has certainly reached its climax. There have been various urges to improve
patient care delivery, particularly by the Australian health care system, which has been received
in high regards. Noteworthy, individuals have had varied opinions on how patient care is
supposed to be delivered by healthcare workers in the contemporary healthcare system. This has
seen many governments implement strategies such as the universal care (e.g. Medicare in
Australia) to make sure that patients are attended to in the shortest time possible while having
access to quality healthcare services. In this light, there has been a push by the Australian health
care services to create a safe and high-quality healthcare environment for all the Australian
people. This paper intends to discuss in detail the creation of a safer and high-quality health care
environment by the Australian care system as discussed in the Australian Journal of Primary
