The code of practice is on the first priority practice in nursing
sector. Ethical dilemmas in the health line sector would be a major
debate among staff, patients and families. If the healthcare
organization refuses to adopt proper ethical practices, it gives
negative impression on the nursing professions.. Ethical practices or
code of ethics are essential because they based on some values of
the nurse. It sets the limitations, boundaries, loyalty, responsibilities
against the patients. Basically, the concept behind code of ethics is
it majorly focuses on good practicing with compassion and
recognition of the dignity, worth and qualities of person. Ethics is
the moral principle that guide individual about what is right and
wrong or how to behave or conduct themselves.
Key principles of ethics in nursing
 Nurses should commit their duties based on virtue of
caring.
 Nurses have compassion take positive to help others and
follow through on the desire to do good.
 Nurses should know the respect patients.
 Treat all patients fairly and equally.
 Consider the patients with effective therapies, medications
or procedures.
According to the perspective of Nurses they must have
followed the proper ethics of their profession in order to
protect the life of their patients.
 As per the provision 2 of nurses has described that
second ethic of the nurse should be to keep patient
at the center of care.
 Nurses have to be take good decision towards their
patients. There is some negative impact that might
affect the nursing world for example:
 End of life Care: Patients at the end of life have
wishes for their care.
 Nurses must abide by patient’s wishes and provide
care without doing harm.
 It will introduce the ineffective work results and
measurement goals in effective working goals.
 An ethical dilemma that arises in the NICU is the
ability to resuscitate micro premature babies.
Overall, nurses have many roles and responsibilities
towards their sick patient which has to be followed
in an ethical manner.
