I am a student pursuing a graduate diploma in a nurse. I have studied bachelors in nursing and
have one year experience as a staff nurse. I have learned how to manage patients in a critical
situation. I have carried out duties in significant areas such as the intensive care unit,
operation theatres and highly dependent unit. I have learned that providing adequate care to
the patients is considered to be a challenging task. I have also worked with doctors and other
health professionals which assisted me to gain knowledge of different medication process. I
have prepared myself to work for long hours as per the need of the situation. I have also
worked in a team which allowed me to learn how a teamwork. My responsibilities was to
observe and record patient's behaviour, coordinate with healthcare professionals, provide
psychological and emotional support to the patients, maintaining reports of the patient,
carrying out required medications and treatments, checking the stocks, maintaining hygiene,
providing instant care, preparing rooms, resolving problems of family and suggesting
appropriate drugs.
I have acquired problem-solving skills and learned to be confident in every situation. I am
honest and possess a positive attitude which is considered to be very much important to be a
successful person. I have been able to work on my communication skill which is considered
to be very much important while carrying work processes. I have also participated in the
decision-making process which enhanced my knowledge and skills. I was responsible to take
care of the patients which consisted of developmental, spiritual, cultural and psychosocial
needs of the individual. I believe in hard work and a strong presence of mind is considered to
be important for achieving the goals and objectives.
I want to become a clinical nurse educator in future. I want to train and educate future nurses
who will carry out their roles and responsibilities in an appropriate manner. I have to acquire
in-depth knowledge about the nursing theories which will enable me to explain concepts in an

need a master degree to become eligible for being a clinical nurse educator. In registered
nursing programs teaching need master’s degree because it assists in increasing knowledge

Role of clinical nurse educator
Nurse educators are a registered nurse having advance clinical training and at the same time
advance education as well. The play multiple roles it starts from a part-time faculty to dean of
a nursing college. The designations of the educator known as Staff development officer,
Instructional or Administrative Nurse faculty, Clinical nurse educator and Continuing
education specialist among others (Rebeiro, Wilson, Scully & Jack, 2017).
The clinical abilities are been combined with responsibilities of nurse educators, and it's
related to
Teaching and guiding learner
Developing courses
Evaluating learning
Documenting the outcomes of the education process
Designing curriculum
I noticed that nursing students get help from nurse educators and they also assist in practising
nurses in identifying their learning needs, limitations and strengths. They believe in learning
and never let go a single chance of opportunity which helps them to build up their strengths
and to overcome from limitations.
The nurse educators who work in colleges as a tutor has settled their responsibilities towards
the faculty and other disciplines are:
Engaging in scholarly work
Engaging in peer review
Speaking/ presenting at nursing conformance
Advising student
Maintaining clinical competence
Writing grant proposal

Part-time teaching service is also being provided by the nurse educators along with their job
in a clinical setting. This allows them to enhance their knowledge and to maintain a high
degree of clinical when helping and sharing their knowledge with newcomers (Smith, 2018).

I have been reading that clinical nurse educator also known as a specialist in nursing
professional development. And they are responsible for providing the deferent type of
training and development commitment to a healthcare facility. They are more responsible to
in ensuring that the nurses who are on duty have enough skills and training in order to work
properly. It is also important to look into the areas which require training and then need to
create a plan to implement the training (Greenwood, 2018).
It might happen that the hospital face shortage of nurses for a specialized unit and transfer or
promotion require from a different unit in order to help and fill the need. It might look like a
simple process, but it's too complicated. Nurses are specialized in different units and it might
make them take part in procedures or using equipment that they might not be experienced
with. The professional development specialist or the clinical educator needs to work with the
newcomers to identify whether they require any additional training or not, if yes then what
additional training or certification to bring them up. Identifying whether the additional
training is necessary or not- is not less than a part of the battle (Study, 2018).
Benefits
I believe that the nursing teacher touches the lives of future patients, through the hands, heart
and minds of tomorrow's nurses. I shall be getting great satisfaction when my student will be
developing their knowledge, skills and make their own professional identity. Every student
has been gifted with different skills, personality and bank of experience (Waszak, 2018).
Teaching relays on curiosity or interest of a student and it promotes a teacher in digging
deeper regarding the topic. An academic calendar has been set by the school at a time in a
year. And I like this feature as I can plan a vacation and spend personal time with the family.
Summer off also being offered by many nursing schools, I can utilize this time and can work
as a part-time to enhance my knowledge and skills.

education to online web-based programs. In order to reach the demand of growing healthcare
the recruitment of qualified and skilled nurses requires. The online education is growing

by individuals freely in order to maintain well-being, health and life. The actions of the nurse
are directed toward helping the patient on the basis of self-care responsibility.

A lack of culture and knowledge was being found missing in nursing and patient's care. The
experience she had faced created a theory which known as Culture Care theory and it
describes the outcome of trans-cultural nursing. This theory is based on helping and
providing care to the patient and his/her cultural beliefs. The theory directs the nurses to
know more about the cultures because it influences the wellbeing and health of the patient.
