Discussion Board Post
AI Summary
This assignment presents a discussion post analyzing the use of technology and data in healthcare. The student discusses the iMobile-Mobile Heartbeat phones and EHR systems, highlighting their benefits in communication, data access, and patient care. The post also explores the role of electronic data in treatment, emphasizing the importance of data integration and management. The student reflects on the value of EHR systems for monitoring processes and improving security and privacy. The assignment also references relevant literature, including studies on mobile technologies, EHR systems, and their impact on healthcare. The student's response to colleagues further clarifies the scenario and application of data, offering additional ideas for the application of nursing informatics principles.

From the last five decades, technology has used in the healthcare systems for different
things. In this post, the role of technology has described with the help of an example in the
field of the healthcare system. It is a basic need to change in the system for the betterment of
processes. In the case of the healthcare system, technology has provided many benefits to
hospitals and doctors as well. In addition, nurses have used technology for better treatment of
patients. The post has discussed about the iMobile-Mobile Heartbeat phones, which is helpful
in the communication between healthcare systems and patients (Ben-Zeev, 2012). There are
many critical conditions in the emergency department, which has required data about the
health of a patient for instant treatment, which can be possible based on the health of the
patient as well (Palvia, Lowe, Nemati, & Jacks, 2012).
Moreover, this phone has provided different qualities, which are suitable for the
system as well as patients in their care. Messages can be easily sent to the healthcare system,
as hospitals and doctors. Besides, it is a basic need of a patient to take proper action based on
different conditions. I use offline and online data for treatment. However, online data access
faster than offline. Moreover, basic processes can be used for better treatment of patients. In
addition, it provides data about the behavior, and medical history of the patients (Romano &
Stafford, 2011). I use real-time data for treatment, which can be download or view from any
device including tablets, mobile phones, laptops, and more. Mobile applications have used for
better results and easy access as well.

Role of Data in healthcare
Electronic data has used for the treatment of a patient, which is helpful in the various
processes of healthcare. In addition, there are many processes in the field of healthcare,
which cannot be completed without data. Besides, technological innovations are helpful in
data integration and management. It provides data with quality and fast access, which is a
basic need for a system. Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is the best way to store and
access the data of patients, which is beneficial in the treatment as well as research. In
addition, there are different types of data of a patient, which has related to their treatment.
Moreover, basic problems can be reduced using data access from the EHR systems. I learned

about the various solutions to critical problems in healthcare (Palvia, Lowe, Nemati, & Jacks,
2012).
As a nurse, I will prefer the EHR system in monitoring and controlling various
processes. Moreover, I want to improve the systems because of different issues of security
and privacy as well. Thus, I use the EHR system for knowing all the processes and current
condition of a patient. I use EHR systems because of its various features, which are beneficial
for the patients as well as myself. Moreover, I compare the old system from the current
system, which is better from the older system (Menachemi & Collum, 2011). In the present
era, different types of devices have used for providing real-time data about the health of a
patient, which is beneficial for their treatment, such as smartphones, wearable devices, and
many others (Howard, et al., 2013).
