Most nurses find their career rewarding. However, many of these nurses would also agree
that they perform their duties in a profession that is mentally and physically challenging, but it is
a nurturing as anyone would expect. This essay will discuss the support of nurses that leads to
the development of resilience, emotional intelligence, and a feeling of belonging. The
characteristics that they possess will assist them in coping with the challenges that they come
across in their everyday life at the workplace. The paper will also discuss the key features of the
mentioned concepts and how they help a newly graduated nurse in providing care for the
patients.
Concept
Resilience-this refers to the ability of a person to recover after being compressed.
Resilience is an outstanding quality that all nurses require due to the stressful nature of the
nursing profession (Parker, Gile, Lantry, & McMillan, 2014). Resilience is an essential factor in
nursing since it helps them to offset the factors that upsurge the risk of mental health conditions
such as trauma and unnecessary bullying. Nurses who have a high degree of resilience also
possess excellent communication skills and therefore find it easy when solving problems.
Resilient nurses can manage an intense sensation of emotional reaction to given conditions or
