PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND

Leaders in any position have to bring forth a unique
blend of skills and attributes, which will not only help
the leaders achieve the organisational goals, but will
also motivate or inspire the existing staff to follow in
the leader’s footsteps.
Many schools of thoughts in leadership believe a few
of these skills are attained by the leader and a few,

PROPOSED PLAN OF ACTION:
I would like to introduce my proposed plan of change for the cause of
the project.
This project aims to improve customer satisfaction.
Recalling my past experience of working as a nurse of 11 years, I have
had the opportunity to be exposed to a myriad of patient groups.
Lack of attention paid to the patients’ wishes, preferences and
grievances accelerates dissatisfaction among patients. Medical errors
and clinical decision making errors which aggravates the condition of
the patient also negatively impacts patient satisfaction.
More the health care quality, approach and behaviour of the staff
affects the patient satisfaction drastically.

EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE TO THE
RESCUE
Is a revolutionary technique which has a deliberating
impact on the care quality and care delivery scenario
as well (Townsend & Morgan, 2017).
Is a scientific, systematic and easy to implement
technique.
Improves each of the care activity provided to the
patients with recent and up-to-date care provisions
and techniques (Dobson & Dobson, 2018).

EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE TO THE
RESCUE
Evidence based practice can easily address communication
gap among nurses and patients, reduce medical errors,
enhance competence and skills of the nurses and enhances
overall care quality
Health care costs are also associated with the greater
consumer dissatisfaction, as evidence based practice is also
associated with reduced health care costs as well, evidence
based practice implementation will be the ultimate tool for
the change in the organization (Dang & Dearholt, 2017).

PLAN-DO-STUDY-ACT:
Will be taking the assistance of the PDSA or the
plan-do-study-act cycle.
Change implementation is a complex procedure
and encompasses various aspects including
internal and external stakeholders.
It is crucial to take assistance of a model or
framework to streamline the process (Laverentz &
Kumm, 2014).
PDSA model is a potent tool, hence I will be taking
the assistance of PDSA cycle.

PHASE 1: PLAN:
The first phase of the program will be planning, and the
preparatory phase for the planning.
I would be gathering feedback from the patient
population to gather insight on the exact reason behind
the customer dissatisfaction.
I would like to put together a team of researchers who
will research with me on developing an evidence based
practice protocol or framework based on the most
notable contributors to the customer dissatisfaction.
The team of researchers will include myself, nursing
leader, community executive, and head registered nurse.
Document Page
PHASE 2: DO:
The second step of the plan is the action
taking step.
In this step the project team will be
implementing the protocol in one
selected ward.
I will be preferably choosing a ward with
at least 10-15 nurses in order to
understand the impact of the change on
a considerably large population.
