Answer 1. Role of a nurse is of leadership at any situation that is looked upon for directions.
They are accountable for all actions and activity under their department. Be it formal or informal
nurses have to be competent to prove their leadership qualities. The management and the
leadership roles are not same and it has its limitation and defined duties. A leader nurse has to be
innovative to navigate through complex landscape of health care system.
A nurse leader has less task-orientation than nurse managers. Their role is to set standards,
spearheading transformation and leading their teams. They are responsible for fulfilling the
organization’s mission, vision and long term plans. In a acute care condition they follow the
protocol and see for correct quality measure followed or not are the setting matching with the
policy. They deal with the regulatory compliance (Winsett et al., 2016). They also are in charge
of fiscal data and maintenance. Ultimately they are accountable for the overall quality of the care
delivered to the acute care patient. The leadership quality comes with experience and the staff
and management look to them for their knowledge and experience.

cost effective care to the patient becomes very complex at times. Leaders make decision based
on critical thinking that can impact the lives of the patient.
The opportunity is to be learning best medical practices with the help of good management and
leadership. They work with best innovation on the front to deliver world case care to the patient.
This helps the leaders to grow on the professional field. The leaders develop vision and critical
thinking.
