Report
AI Summary
This report provides an in-depth analysis of nursing education, focusing on effective teaching strategies and the evaluation of learning needs. It begins by outlining the importance of understanding a learner's developmental stage and how this influences the ability to learn, emphasizing the need for instructors to identify physical, mental, and psychological characteristics. The report discusses the diagnosis of learning needs, highlighting the importance of teachable moments and the instructor's role in assessing behavioral changes. It then explores the goals and objectives of nursing education, including caregiving, safety, and health promotion, while also detailing various teaching methods such as case studies and distance learning. The report delves into learning theories like behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism, and how these theories are used to evaluate nursing students' learning capabilities. It also covers the evaluation process, including pre and post-tests, and the importance of creating engaging learning environments. Finally, it suggests strategies for instructors to handle challenging situations and promote active participation through innovative methods, such as game-based activities. The report concludes by emphasizing the significance of continuous evaluation and adaptation in nursing education.

Assessment
The developmental stage of a learner particularly influence the ability to learn. During planning,
implementing and evaluating patient education, it is necessary to identify the physical, mental
and physiological characteristics of a learner. Teaching a group of learners with same
characteristics will be more efficient for a instructor(Ironside and et.al., 2014). A developmental
approach must be used to deliver the patient education to health-related educational learners.
There can be wide range of variations in abilities related to physical, mental and psychological
maturation at any given age. Thus, actual sequential age is the only indicator of individual
developmental stage.
Diagnosis of learning need
As an instructor, it is necessary to evaluate behavioural changes of the learner which are
occurring during learning process such as cognitive, psychomotor, effective behaviour. However,
instructor can go through primary data collection method for collecting information about a
learner. The most appropriate time to teach a leaner is when the learner is ready which is often
termed as teachable moment. Moreover, nurses don't have such teachable moments and they
actively participates and pay attention to the instructor as their profession is to learn about
delivering patient care.
Identification of learning need and goals and objectives of the organisation
The goal of the teaching is to deliver information about care giving, safety and
development of a patient, heath promotion, taking measures for disease prevention and to build a
healthy relationship with their patient. Teaching strategies involve active learning methods like
case studies, problem based learning, computational information, distance learning etc. In
structures are also developing effective methods to teach clinical practices by implementing
learning theories on learners.

Methods, science, supplies
Learning theory is a set of principles examining how individuals tends to acquire, retain
and recall knowledge. Three learning theories are being used such as behaviourism, cognitivism
and constructivism. Adult learning theory helps a instructor to evaluate the learning capabilities
of nursing students by analysing their self concepts, their learning experiences, readiness to learn
and motivation towards learning.
Content and methods use to present content
Different contents and formats are use by Nurse educators to develop and expanding their
knowledge of effective and evidence based techniques to educate nursing students. Tools and
techniques are used by these educators by using nursing care plans and examining concept maps
(Moon2013).
Evaluation: Process, Outcomes
Evaluation of nursing students can be done through implementing practice sessions in
class. Instructor needs to ask the learners if they are facing any problem or having any doubts.
The location of the sessions should be according to the learners satisfaction and interests. The
instructor can teach them in a classroom or in a lab or sometimes at places like gardens parks etc.
to build their interests. Pre and post tests sessions can be conducted to evaluate performance
individually.
Analyse the learning situation
Participants can also ask questions from the instructor if they are facing any kind of
doubts. They can communicate with instructors or ask for help if needed. Sometimes, students
loose their interests in asking questions to the instructor or feel boring if instructor ask them
some questions, To handle such situations, instructor need to put more efforts and develop some
innovative methods to make sessions interesting.
As an instructor, I would follow all these teaching strategies and methods. Additionally, I
would like to add some fun activities which can be conducted during sessions to make them
interesting. Questions can be asked in the form of game by dividing students into team. It will
help instructor to create interest and learners will also participate actively.
