NURSING ASSIGNMENT
Question 1:
Patient experience is directly related to the patient satisfaction. Nurse have a major role in
the enhancement of patient experience. By providing better care to the patient by the nurses, the
patient satisfaction rises which enhances the patient experiences, thus giving rise to positive
health outcomes (Leggat, Karimi & Bartram, 2017).
Nurses who work as supervisor in the patient care are also considered as the general
contractor. As the general contractor, we have control of certain components but not all the
components. As a general contractor, we have control over the components which are related to
the treatment, diagnosis and referral, but the decision related to the treatment are dependent upon
the patient and the stakeholders.
Question 2:
According to Berkowitz, (2016), lack of clarity between the terms patient satisfaction and
patient experience is considered as challenge in the nursing practice. This challenge hinders the
patient care quality, as similar measurement is applied to achieve both patient experience and
patient satisfaction.
The challenge should be addressed and in order to avoid that, strategies should be
implemented such as educating the nursing staff about the difference of the patient experience
and patient satisfaction and approaches to implement that (Tsai, Orav & Jha, 2015).
Question 3:
Yes, the patient experience is used as the measurement of the patient care or the provider
reimbursement. Enhanced patient experience is observed in case of better care which leads to

positive health outcomes. Apart from that, it is also used to judge metric for the reimbursing care
by physicians (Berkowitz, 2016).
According to Anhang Price et al., (2014), enhanced patient experience is correlated with
the better care of the patient that is by providing better treatment and the recommendation which
leads to positive clinical outcome that can be measured by communicating with the patient or by
conducting a survey.
