Answer 1- Health policies are implied to improve the health of a population, but there
are certain issues associated. One of the major issues is the impact of the health policies.
Impact of health policies are not the same as expected which is a major concern. Second
policy issue is that, there are many chronic disease which are not included or the policy does
not provide coverage to some severe disease (Adua et al., 2017). Other issue related to health
care policy is the complex structure of the policies. The policies formulated are complicated
for the local population.
This policies helps in gaining knowledge and also it helps in formulating better plans
for treatment to get effective results. Population health policies are implied by registered
nurses to improve health of a population.
Answer 2- People of age 65 and above have high risk of getting infected from any
disease or from complex health issues (Ngandu et al., 2015). Hence needs additional
precaution and attention which is provided by Older American Act.
A number of exclusive features in the proposed plan makes the policy effective which
include healthcare benefits to adults having low income, delivers cost effective treatment to
chronic disease, improvises the health care model for old age people, avoids race
discrimination during treatment and provides financial support by numerous medical
insurance schemes.
Older American act initially legislated in 1965 and provides a variety of benefits to
old age for instance meals-on-wheels, transportation nutrition services and health care
benefits. The act is expired in the year 2000 but again legislated in to law in 2016 as Older
Americans Act reauthorisation act.

Answer 3- Translational research helps to address medical necessities by applying the
basic biological understanding to generate tools and methods to improve health consequences
of a population (Brownson, Colditz & Proctor, 2017). It investigates to create new concepts,
approaches and implements that aids in improvisation of health outcomes and also helps in
determining Patient-Centered health strategy through basic biological tools. It helps in
developing new idea that should be implemented in order to formulate better health care
plans to get effective results. This ideas and concepts helps in formulating new healthcare
policy to provide wide range of benefits to individual.
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) sanctioned in 2010 was swayed by
translational research in order to improve the medical structure and providing more health
benefits to demographic.
Answer 4- Advocacy helps in generating positive alterations for population and their
surroundings. Population advocacy helps in refining the health of a population (Miller, Lewis
& Waites, 2018). As an advanced registered nurse, it is my responsibility to spread awareness
among the individual about the health services and policies. It can be done by educating them
with the benefits of health policies such as through the policy they can get treatment for
chronic disease at low cost without facing discrimination.
To spread awareness among individual about population advocacy is not easy and
barriers and hurdles are associated with it. There are some barriers which was encountered
by me are work overload, lack of time, fear of skirmish, nervousness of taking risks, absence
of organizational support and medical staff deficiency (Staebler et al., 2017). To achieve the
result these a barriers need to resolved.
