INTRODUCTION
Person centred approach in context of health and social care setting is basically a way of
thinking as well as doing things. It is the approach where medical staff involves an individual
taking the health and social care services in planning, developing and monitoring care. Person
centred approach is the approach which provides medical professional an ease in meeting the
needs as well as expectation of service user (Long, 2018).
Essay will include an individual reflection unit content. It will have emphasizes on
analysing the way different models as well as concepts in the unit content will inform the future
practices of an individual.

Gibbs Reflective model
Description : After the completion of my primary as well as secondary education, as I have
interest in the nursing I have enrolled my self for the same course. During the course I have
learned about the good nursing practices. I came across different concepts and models which has
completed change my view about the nursing field. In addition to this, I have learned about the
models as well as approach which can be implemented in order to improve quality of care in
health and social care setting. During the module, I have also come to know about the roles as
well as responsibilities of registered nurse (Dotevall, Winberg and Rosengren, 2018.). During
the module, My teacher has also taught me about the different regulations as well as laws which
governs health care practices. During The module our teacher has taught us about the different
hypothesis related to nursing such as Roper logan Tiemey model and levett Jones clinical
reasoning cycle. During the lecture I came to know about the way levett Jones clinical reasoning
cycle could be utilised for identification of health care priorities. I have also been taught about
the person centred approach and benefit of the same. I have been taught about the way I can
deliver quality care as well as services to service user by utilising the person centred approach.
Feelings: As before enrolling myself for the nursing course I had only little knowledge about the
field, therefore I was very much existed to learn about nursing practice. On the first day of my
lecture on the nursing I was very much excited (Liu, Xue and Hou, 2018). During the time of
first-day lecture, When my teacher during the module has made me aware about the historical as
well as contemporary role of nursing I felt little more excited. There were few situations where I

felt nervous as I had difficulty in developing the understanding about few approaches as well as
models related to the nursing. But with the support from my colleagues and teacher I have
successful develop the understanding about the concepts and model. From both the model that is
logan Tiemey model and levett Jones clinical reasoning cycle., I found difficulty in developing
the understanding about logan Tiemey model (Franklin, Reed and Ream, 2019. ). When I came
to know levett Jones clinical reasoning cycle., I felt that it is the model which can be easily
applied into my nursing practices ion the future. I felt the levett Jones clinical reasoning cycle as
very useful model. In addition to this, I feel that all the medical professional in health and social
care setting should adopt the person centric approach, as it will assist them in fulfilling the needs
as well as meeting the expectation of service users. I also felt that by adopting the patient centric
approach medical professional can deliver quality care as well as services to patients. I also feel
that personal centric approach can be helpful in context of eliminating the chances of medical
errors (Ellis, 2019.). After getting the knowledge about nursing practices, I felt that nurses plays
crucial role in providing the quality care as well as good experience as well as high level of
satisfaction to service users. Overall I feel very good while learning about the standard nursing
practices in health and social care setting.
Evaluations: During the module teacher has asked to make group discussion related to the
selection of the best model in order to improve self practice as a nurse in health as well as social
carte setting it is the activity which I found useful, as through this task gained the detail
information about the standard nursing practices in health and social care setting. The things
which I felt wrong is that during the discussion every team member of mine was speaking so
loud that I face difficulty in sharing my views about the model which can be utilised for
improving nursing practices (Kaakinen, Steele and Robinson, 2018). During the group
discussion , as I did not get the chance to speak I felt littler angry. Few chances which I get to
share my opinions about the model which can be utilised for improving the nursing practices I
provided the advantages as well as disadvantages of different approach which has supported my
team members in measuring the effectiveness of different models as well as hypothesis. I have
evaluated by attending the lecture I have developed reasoning skills which will be helpful for me
in context of continuing my career in nursing field.

Other members has helped each other in developing the understanding about different
models as well as approaches which can be used for enhancing the nursing practices in health
and social care setting.
Analysis: I have analysis that if I have been more active during the lecture I would also been
able to make my significant contribution in group discussion. I have analysed that by actively
participating in the lecture I have gained the depth knowledge about the standards nursing
practices as well as models which I perceive that will help me in becoming effective nurse. I
also perceive that the information related to nursing practices will help in performing my roles as
well as responsibilities in systematic manner.
Conclusion : I Found that by attending the lecture on the standard nursing practices I gained
depth knowledge about the field. I learned about the two important models these are s logan
Tiemey model and levett Jones clinical reasoning cycle. By attending the lecture I have gained
the valuable information which will help me in continuing my career ion particular field. I need
to develop an effective communication as well as listening skills, as both the abilities will assist
me in delivering an appropriate service to user.
Action plan: After the completion of the module on nursing I have planned that I will apply the
person centric approaching while delivering services to patient. I will communicate with family
members of patients. I will also involve service user in planning, developing and monitoring care
. I will also utilise the levett Jones clinical reasoning cycle for collecting the cues, processing
the information. After collection of the information related to the patient and before planning the
intervention I will take high initiative in order to develop the understanding about the problem
faced by service user. As I believe that it is the activity which will assist me in ensuring the
delivery of better health outcome. In addition to This, I will use logan Tiemey model for
assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—and serves as a guide for the
nurse to conduct a holistic patient assessment that serves as a basis for a care plan. I will apply
this hypothesis for addressing research questions related to particular functional deficits observed
in service users which requires skilled nursing care.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the above that standards nursing practices is very much
essential in order to achieve desired objectives. The other fact which has been found is that
standard nursing practices is crucial for delivering high level of satisfaction to service users. It

has also been concluded that person centric approach is very much effective in context of
fulfilling the needs of customers and meeting the expectation of service users.
