Question no 1.
The enrolled nurse standard for practice states that nurse should practice in such a way
that give and ensure rights, dignity, confidentiality and respect of people. To meet such standard
of practice, I have enrolled in cultural competent training and workshop, which help me to
increase my awareness regarding different culture and I’m engaged in interpersonal interaction
with the patients. Apart from this, I’m taking online education which give virtual nursing ethical
training and I apply those learning practically while taking care of the patients and try to give
respect and maintain their dignity.
Question no 2.
I am an auditory learner and use auditory learning style to enhance my knowledge. The
four practice that I undertake to maximise my learning are:
1. I record my video lectures and listen them in leisure time, it make learning easy
2. To retain the information, I make use of diagrams, figures and flashcard
3. I engage myself in practical environment where I apply my learning
4. I give weekly test to check my progress in learning

Two work methods and practice that can improve my performance are
1. Simply listen- I believe that listening helps to understand the language of others and can
give respect to patients.
2. Aim for clarity- In giving care to the patients, if I am not sure regarding treatment, I
clarify and ask questions with my senior colleague.

Networking within industry create opportunity for new jobs, as interaction with new
people in the industry can open new door for new career. Additionally, through such
communication, one can exchange fresh ideas and knowledge with other professional and
introduce new way of practice in the workplace. Hence, networking can help us to develop
professionally.

Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation is one of the nursing professional
organisation which helps nurse in learning and develop professionally. It give free access to
various courses that is available in CPE website like core nursing course, midwifery course and
general nursing courses. Members of the organization get free ANMF portfolio for professional
development and provide training from experienced mentor.

With the utilisation of formal way of learning, I can get professional training and
knowledge that will make me competent enough to provide efficient care to the patients.
Informal way of learning helps in self-development where I get practical learning and experience
through conversation, meeting with peoples and observing the health care situation. Therefore,
through such way of learning, I can enhance my nursing practice.
