ASSIGNMENT TWO
Marketing Plan
I am a nursing practitioner and I am practicing for the advanced role of adult
gerontology nurse practitioner. As a nurse practitioner I am responsible for the well being of
the patient and proper care to the patients as well. My skills and the role as the advanced
practitioner are as follows:
As a nursing practitioner I always try to listen to the patients I encounter and give the
priorities to their mental and physical wellbeing. The fact of the patient centred care
and the evidence based nursing practice are the aspects of nursing I try to adhere to. In
order to provide proper care to the patients I try to communicate with them and also
with their family members and my focus, is to build a professional relationship with
them.
The evidence collection process come after the diagnosis of the patient’s past medical
history and the present condition and on the basis of the diagnosis the evidences
collected from the past medical cases and the online databases about the identified
disease or medical condition.
As a nursing practitioner I try to provide high quality care to the patients with the
prioritisation of their health. The factor of communication and the medication
knowledge plays a key role in this process and my skills of communication and
nursing experience helps me in the care providing process.
I am opting for the position of an adult gerontology nurse practitioner which is a
highly responsive and large area of nursing as the adult gerontology nurse needs to
address the patients from their adolescent ages to the elderly age along with the
advanced ages as well. In order to be a gerontology nurse practitioner the nurse
should be able to provide proper care to a large number of patients and they are more

or less independent as they do not need to be supervised by any physician for their
vast knowledge and experience.
I have a good amount of experience and a very good communication skill along with
listening skill. I also have the knowledge of the medication process of different acute
medical cases and experienced many severe cases as well. As a nurse practitioner I
work in an acute care department of a hospital and provide care to a number of
patients. Hence, I have the man management and time management experiences as
well which helped me in developing the skills of the time management and man
management.
My communication skill, understanding of patients and the time management skills
along with the experience of an acute care nurse in the adult acute care unite helped
me gather the knowledge and the experience for the advance nursing practitioner
position that is the adult gerontology nursing practitioner (Sundler, Pettersson &
Berglund, 2015).
As for my experience as nurse and collaborative skills by being a acute care unit nurse
along with the cardiology specialist nurses, mental care nurses and other acute care
nurses helped me develop knowledge about different disease care and also help the
patients according to their needs. I also helped other nurses in emergencies that also
helped me in developing the knowledge about critical care policies and my flexibility
of working for overtime and also providing care to large number of patients are the
facts that helped me develop a vast knowledge and experience as well (Shifrin,
Widmar & Ashby, 2019).
On the basis of these skills and knowledge I can say that I have the confidence to be a
adult gerontology nursing practitioner. The skills needed for this position are
communication, understanding of patient needs, listening to patients, collaborating

with other nurses and doctors, leadership skills, time management skills and others.
Earlier mentioned skills are developed by me from my nursing practice for several
years and the knowledge of critical care also developed. Hence, I am now suited for
the post of the adult gerontology nursing practitioner (Kennedy-Malone &
Shaughnessy, 2017).
As a nursing practitioner I have been able to develop the knowledge about the nursing
competencies that are the Direct Clinical Practice, Evidence-based Practice,
Consultation and Collaboration (Clark, Raffray, Hendricks & Gagnon, 2016). As an
acute care nurse in a hospital I am responsible for the clinical care, medication
process, diagnosis of patients and other factors which gave me the experience of
direct clinical practice. Collaboration with other specialised nurses is a required factor
to be an acute care nurse and I improved my collaboration skills by working in the
acute care ward. On the other hand consultation with doctor and the family members
of the patient is required to provide evidence based and patient centred care as well.
In order to develop a marketing plan for the attraction of employers towards me for
hiring me as an adult gerontology nursing practitioner needs to be realistic and
effective. In order to attract the employers I need to create a positive and attractive
resume of mine and post it to the recruitment portals of the employers that are the
hospitals and other clinical institutes. Next step is to outsourcing and letting people
know about me and my works (Wensley, 2016). Other than this I need to use the
social media platform as well in order to catch eyes of people and the employers. The
social media advertising process needed to be clear and professional in order to attract
the employers towards me (Ashley & Tuten, 2015). I need to research about the
potential institutions and the hospitals where I can be hired by the employers and on
the basis of the research I need to advertise my skills. The factor of the advertisement

and letting people know about myself should focus on vast area as it would provide
me several options as well (Morgan, Whitler, Feng & Chari, 2019). I would also
target some recruitment agencies and send them my resume in order to let them find
job for me as it is a very relevant way of job seeking. The social media platform on
the other hand would play a key role as well as it enables the connection with vast
amount of people. The marketing plan should be able to find the proper place for the
approach the employers and effectively advertise myself as an adult gerontology
nursing practitioner.
