AI Summary
This assignment explores the application of the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to address and improve staff performance in a healthcare setting. The student's response details how the nursing process, typically used for patient care, can be adapted to identify, diagnose, and address performance issues in staff members. The process begins with assessing the problem, followed by diagnosing the root cause, planning interventions, implementing changes, and finally, evaluating the impact of these interventions. The student also acknowledges the importance of open communication and the employee's ability to recognize their weaknesses, which is crucial for successful implementation of the nursing process in a staff performance context. The response also includes references to relevant research articles supporting the application of the nursing process in improving staff performance and overall outcomes in nursing organizations.

1NURSING PROCESS ADRESSING STAFF MEMBER’S PERFORMANCE
Although nursing deals with the diagnosis, with the planning, implementation and
evaluation of a patient’s diseases, it also plays an important role in the evaluation of a staff’s
performance and also addressing the staff member’s performance.
As a nurse first identifies the problem in a patient, the problems that the staff member
is facing can be identified in the first case. Secondly the issue can be diagnosed and analysed
similar to a nursing process (Aebersold, & Tschannen, 2013). Whether the problem can be
solved and whether the employee can work on his problems can be determined later. After
the problem is diagnosed, the problem needs implementation of strategies and planning in
order to obtain positive solutions and outcomes. This can be possible if the employee is frank
and open in communication and has the ability to recognize his as well as his team’s
problems (Lee, Kim, & Kim, 2014). Finally the interventions and the planning could be
evaluated so that it has a positive impact on the problem and the problem diagnosed gets
resolved.
Thus the process of nursing can be implemented to improve the employee’s
performance in a firm, with the correct diagnosis and proper strategies.
Reply to student:
The solution that the student has provided in Module 4: Discussion of 2 GO1, does
include the answer to the question that how come the nursing process with all its possible
methods does help to improve the staff member’s performance. I am glad to see the briefing
that you mad , properly, about the nursing process and how if it implemented to a staff, can
improve his performance.
