AI Summary
This report outlines a comprehensive research project management plan for a study focusing on evidence-based nursing practice (EBP) and its impact on nurses' decision-making skills. The plan includes an introduction, background, aim, objectives, and a research hypothesis stating that EBP improves decision-making. It reviews relevant literature, emphasizing the importance of clinical decision-making in nursing and the role of EBP. The methodology involves secondary data collection and qualitative data analysis. Ethical considerations, including authorization and data protection, are addressed. A detailed timeline spanning 26 weeks is provided, outlining key stages such as topic selection, data collection, literature review, and final submission. The conclusion summarizes the project's key elements and steps, highlighting the significance of EBP in enhancing nursing practice. The report is a student contribution, and you can find similar research papers and solutions on Desklib, a platform offering AI-driven study tools.

NURSING RESEARCH: RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
Introduction
The study illustrates a research project management plan for Evidence-Based Nursing
Practice. With the execution of this study, a comprehensive understanding regarding the different
elements that will be used under this research project of nursing practice would be attained. The
study would exemplify the steps that are required to be followed for the execution of a research
project
Background
The very first step in the research project management plan is providing a brief idea
about the selected research topic. Nursing is one of the professional health care areas in which
critical decisions are required to be taken during the course of practice. Often theses clinical
decision is critical and has to be taken by the nurses with utmost care. In context to the evidence,
based nursing practice is regarded to be conscientious utilization of current evidence in making
decision about a patient's care and interventions. The background of the study illustrates the
problem statement of research, which is the role of evidence-based nursing in improving the
decision making skills of the nurses (Davies & Hughes, 2014).
Aim
In this step of the project plan, the research aim is established which exemplifies the key
aspect that is undertaken for the research study. The major aim of this study is to determine the
role of evidence-based nursing practice in improving the decision-making skills of the
professional nurses.
Objectives
The objectives of the project plan set out the major goals that are tried to being accomplished
by the said research project. The major objectives of this study are as follows:
To vividly describe the concept of evidence-based practice in nursing

To elaborate on the role of the EBP in improving the decision making skills of the
professional nurses
To assess the kind of impact EBP has on the nurse’s overall performance
Research Hypothesis
In this stage of the research, project plan a hypothesis is developed which provides a
predictive statement about the concerned research study and the kind of possible outcomes
would be attained. The research hypothesis in concern to said research topic is as follows:
H0: Evidence Based Practice does not improve the decision-making skills of the professional
nurses
H1: Evidence Based Practice improves the decision-making skills of the nurses
Literature Review
Clinical decision-making is considered one of the crucial skills that are required by
almost all the professional working under the health care sector. In the opinion of Mackey &
Bassendowski, (2017) making rationalistic approach towards a clinical situation is of
significantly important in the nursing profession. Evidence based practice is one such clinical
practice that provides the nurses to consider the evidences that are currently available in concern
to the patient's clinical situation while determining any kind of care and intervention Friesen-
Storms, Bours, van der Weijden & Beurskens, 2015). Some previous researchers stated that
decision making skills of the nurses using EBP turned to have more positive responses than other
nurses that do not use EBP
Research Methodology
This is one of the most important steps in the research project plan since it is in this stage
the data related to the research project is collected and effectively evaluated to determine its
reliability and validity. Data collection takes place in two forms that is primary and secondary.
Owing to the subject of research study the researcher selects the most suitable collection method.
In respect to this study the secondary data collection method is opted for in which different

journal, articles, books relevance to EBP would be considered. After the data collection, the data
would be analyzed. The analysis takes place either through qualitative or quantitative data
analysis. For this study, the data would be analyses by a qualitative approach to determines its
reliability and validity (Flick, 2015).
Ethical Considerations
In this step of the plan, the ethical factors that are associated with a research study are
undertaken in order to avoid any kind of ethical risks or issues. Relevant authorization and data
protection laws are required to be implemented in order to closer the ethical aspects. In concern
to this study it is important that relevant authorization related to the access of the secondary data
are undertaken
