3. Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The CPD process is identified as an effective learning process helping individuals
looking forward to developing a prospective career in the nursing profession. In this regard,
individuals are required to undergo a series of short course modules, seminars, conferences,
workshops, professional development activities and working groups. The knowledge gained
during the course learning modules in a theoretical manner are further tested for the purpose of
identifying the effectiveness of the individual in a real-life scenario. The working groups are
found to play an integral role in this regard. Furthermore, participation in both national and
interactional conferences and seminars held on nursing profession. To be precise, each of the
CPD sessions ensured developing the professionalism, expertise and capability of an individual
to comply with the tight schedule and operational scope of a nurse. Furthermore, it is of
immense significance in educating the future nurses on the consideration of an ethical yet
rational operational process while dealing with critical patient handling scenarios in future.

4. Critical Reflection Using Gibbs Cycle
The overall process associated with emerging as a successful nurse is found to undergo a
series of knowledge gaining and brainstorming session. The following section has provided a
critical analysis of the knowledge session experienced by me relating to terminating a pregnancy
case using the six-step analysis process of Gibbs Cycle is as follows:
Description: The knowledge gaining process required all aspiring nurses to acquire detail
understanding of every step associated with the process. This particular learning session is
identified to be very critical and requires all nurses to be well aware of the process right from the
initial stage of their course.
Feelings: I was very excited at the same time worried whether I will be able to
successfully gain the necessary knowledge associated with helping others in terminating
unwanted pregnancy during emergency situations. I feel it is a very sensitive and critical part of
medical diagnosis. The final result of this learning process is of immense significance in helping
career growth largely (Eick, Williamson & Heath, 2012; Chang & Schneider, 2010).
New Perspectives: The direct communication and coordination among the participants
during the learning session was a major knowledge gaining process. It was of immense
significance in helping me analyse my ability to understand each and every process associated
with terminating a pregnancy case. Moreover, the process also taught me how to act carefully as
well as in a quick manner in emergency situations. This learning session is one of the very few
dimensions of nursing study which is very critical as well as a sensitive issue in the present
societal context.

Learning: The learning process on pregnancy termination was of immense significance
in helping me boost my confidence level regarding making effective use of individual skills and
abilities. It also played a significant role in understanding how an individual should take up new
challenges in life and also overcome them with high degree of effectiveness. It played a
significant role in analysing the individual capability from multiple point of view in nursing
studies (Baglin & Rugg, 2010).
Areas for further development: I feel that the learning experience was magnificent and
in future I will definitely keep a note of each of the loopholes that I made this time. I need to
work upon increasing my concentration level further in the near future while studying critical
medial aspects.
