Introduction
Nursing studies include different types of courses which are done by the students. The
coursework includes subjects such as geometry, biology, English and language arts, psychology,
algebra which requires proper concentration of students and will also be needed in the
coursework (Fang and Chapman., 2020). It is important for the students to study hard and appear
for the course as it is not only about studies but the work contains a huge responsibility. The
students can also do volunteering work in order to improve their skills and to do some practical
training.

Strong study skills:
it is important for the students studying for nursing to have an idea that nursing courses required
high study skills and demand long hours of studies. If someone is not having good study skills
then they will not be able to pass the course (Schick and et. al., 2021). In order to increase the
study skills it is important to have better concentration on studies. It will help in understanding
the studies from basics and will also help in studying for longer duration of time. The nursing
school coursework is cumulative and the students are required to hang on to textbooks so that
they can gather the essential information.
Advantage: in nursing school the students have to go through various exams and strong
study skills will help the students in getting prepare for each exam irrespective of the time
provided by the teachers for preparation. As they were constantly studying they will be able to
crack the exam.
Disadvantages: strong study skills will help students in getting theoretical knowledge
but in the courses of nursing it is equally important for the students to have practical knowledge
as well. The textbooks are somewhat putting more emphasis on theoretical knowledge as
compared to practical knowledge.

it is one of the most important skill that is needed to be possessed by the students not only
in nursing course but in any other course as well (Griffiths and Soruç., 2020). The strategy used

in order to enhance this essential skill is use of a planner. It will enter all the academic and
personal commitments and will help students in delegating their time effectively to each task or
responsibility.
Advantages:
it enhances the productivity of students as it helps them in creating no waste of their time and
help them in having free time as well. Time is the most important thing for students and if they
are not delegating it properly then they may face problems.
Disadvantages:
inefficient planning skills of students can create a major issue for students. the students will
remain too busy all the time and will not be able to focus on their personal goals. It will create
ruckus and will also make the days of students hectic.
The observations are absolutely true and these strategies have helped a lot in the studies.
With the help of time management skills, the time was allocated to each activity efficiently
whereas strong study skills helped in completing the coursework related to my studies. It helped
in preparing the notes and also in segregating the effective material from the textbooks which are
important and needed to be studied carefully.
Three different reading skills
Scanning: it refers to a quick reading of the material in order to find specific information from a
given text material (Glover and White., 2020). It is important for the students to develop this
skills as it will help them in saving their time of reading all the material in order to search for a
and specific information. It helps the students in quickly analysing the location of a particular
piece of information with utmost care.
Advantages: it helps the students in locating information ery fast and will help them in gaining
knowledge about the information they actually required leaving everything else as it is. It also
saves time of students which can be utilized in their studies.
disadvantages: it does not pay attention to each and every detailed information given in the text
which makes it essential for the reader to make sure that the required information is gathered
without leaving anything significant behind.
Skimming: it is different from scanning as it refers to the search which is done for a specific
keyword (Xu and et. al., 2020). The students does not take any content to find information rather
than they focus on the keywords only.

Advantages: one of the major advantage is that it saves time and help students in having
information at a specific place without having fear of missing out of information.
Disadvantage: it is a big disadvantage of this reading type it that it limit the information
search of students and unable them to only research particular topics.
Reading for details: it refers to the reading style in which students read each and every sentence
of the material carefully and try to analyse the details given in the material (Duan., Kotey and
Sandhu., 2021). It is a slow reading process in which students starts to read from the very
beginning and read it to the end.
Advantages : it helps the students in having proper information about every detail.
Disadvantage: it is a time consuming process and required utmost attention and concentration.
The reading style that is needed to be used yet is extensive style of reading. It is a style of
reading which is done only for pleasure and not for any academic purpose and only only for the
purpose of interest.
Notes Making Methods
These are the methods which aids in preparing and succeed in making notes.
Outline Method:
This is a very easy method for making notes and used for simpleness. This is a very
common method for making notes which is utilised by many college students in highly
structured or logical way.
Advantage: It permits to give the priority and an easiness to review the notes. This method is also
very flexible as anyone can draw arrows and lines which are used to connect all the ideas from
different subtopics.
Disadvantage: It needs more ideas in the class for the high-fidelity of a system. Also it may not
show the relations in a sequential manner whenever it is required.
Mapping Method:
This is a method that functions for all the scholars which have an interlinking subjects or
difficult conceptual thoughts. It may involve chemistry, history and so on as an example of this
method.
Advantages:
This is a very strong note making method as it not only highlighting the essential facts about it
but also display the whole structure of a topic. This is very easy that any of the student can easily

note down all the points when the lecture is going on in a very easy and understandable format.
This will result in making perfect notes for using them in future purpose.
Disadvantages:
In this method, it can be hard to differentiate the ideas and facts of notes and it needs a powerful
ability of concentration.
Flow Notes Method:
This method is aidful in making connections in different fields or in different topics. It is
useful in making arrows, diagrams, graphs etc. to get a basic thought in note making.
Advantages:
This method is useful in lessening the capability of reading and increasing the understanding
during the class.
Disadvantage:
This method is based on the fact that written language is a bit typical which wont be strict as
with gradable notes. When students are making connectivity then it becomes very hard to write
the things exactly what the lecturer has said in a lecture and important things were left.
Improvements in Note making for future assignments:
Effective note making is a very beneficial part for any student studying in the university which
aids in the gaining an amount of new knowledge (Saracho., 2020). It will aid in concentrating
and understanding of the whole material and will help in constructing the assignments used for
the research method. By using all the mapping method of note making will definitely help in the
improvement as it will assist in processing the things in a very good manner. Mapping method is
beneficial as through this children can understand the notes and their way by making diagrams in
it.
Other note making method for future:
Charting Method:
This method is used for making the notes by making rows, columns and labelling the
headings in a proper way. This method uses charts to concentrate and in organising the notes
which will help in enabling the differentiation of different subjects and thoughts.

Conclusion
From the above report it is concluded that students have to develop skills and knowledge
in order to enhance their performance and to have success in the course. Developing strategies to
master the tasks of course can help the students in developing their knowledge and will also
make sure that the students are working in order to enhance their capabilities.
